After last season, how does anyone still think Jarrett Lee is equipped to move the ball for LSU?

I'm willing to throw his freshman year out of the window, and agree that he could have been a QB at one point if he was handled better, but it is too late for that now. He has David Carr/Archie Manning syndrome unfortunately.

He attempted 40 passes last year and only completed 16 of them. In 6 consecutive quarters of work (Alabama and LT), he completed just 11 of 32 for 149 yards.

There should be no doubt who our best QB is. As flawed as JJ can be, he gives the team a much better chance to win.

This. As bad as our offense has been, I can't see spotting the other team 7 points.

JL looked much better than JJ in the spring game. Crowton can start who he wants, that's his job. I'm with the Dude on this, I don't get the fans being all down on JL, or assuming if he was bad as a redshirt frosh that he will always be bad. As far his poor showing against LT, he was still a redshirt soph, and hadn't played all season.

But, hope springs eternal. Here's hoping it clicks for JL, who will finally be a jr. Now he's got no youth excuse, this year he should be ready to go if called. I would still like to see him get mop up time through the course of the season to keep him ready.

I don't know what the David Carr / Archie Manning syndrome is but I sure wish JL if he has it, would take advantage of it. Both those guys were great college quartervacks.

I'm guessing he's talking about in the NFL, when they played behind o-lines that could not block, they were getting killed, and they had a tendency to throw it quickly expecting the protection to break down. Both suffered (Carr a lot more).

It's funny how we answer our own questions about JJ's abilities, but tend to ignore the evidence. The OL play, or lack of, was much to blame for the O's ineffectiveness yet we still think JJ can't cut it. If the OL is improved, so will be JJ. This isn't to say that JJ doesn't need to improve in a couple of areas, just that if the OL is improved so will be JJ.

Lee obviously has flaws as a quarterback but the LSU offense moved the ball with him. The guy only played two years of high school football, if I'm not mistaken. He could still develop.

I'm not a stat guy but I would be willing to bet the LSU offense ran more plays and gained more yardage with him at QB than JJ.

I may be wrong about the numbers as I am only going off my impression. If the number say otherwise I would certainly admit I am wrong. I don't pretend to be an football expert but if I'm right on the numbers I'd be willing to bet he overtakes JJ at some point this year if he can get over his fear of contact.
