We shouldn't judge others?Isn't that what we do with burglars ,bank robbers ,thieves ,rapists, child molesters...I don't think that phrase pertains to judgements lawfully rendered by a court on a person who has committed a crime. That word for kill...as in thou shalt not kill ,does not pertain to killing someone by accident ,to self defense,to killing on the field of battle , or in the line of duty {as with a police officer.}it means to "lie in wait" or to premeditate murder. And about murderers ,they have a meeting to attend.i would prefer they attend that meeting as soon as possible.God is waiting.
I wasnt talking about bank robbers, burglars, rapists and so on. My question was about execution and murder. I understand the need for the justice system. The fact remains that execution is a form of vengeance, the bible preaches against vengeance specifically. You can beat around that fact as much as you want, but its still in the bible.
A just penalty is not the same as vengence. Forgiveness for personal transgressions is a matter of grace. Violating a criminal statute is also a crime against the State, requiring justice separate from the forgiveness of the victim. Strickly in terms of the results of casual sex, a woman's "choice" is when she engages in the sex act. The biological purpose of vaginal intercourse is for procreation, it's a matter of personal responsibility first and foremost. Abortion relative to casual sex is just plain murder. It' not a moral contradiction, they are separate. For example, "killing", or murder, is best understood as an unjustified homicide. Forms of justifiable homicide are acts of self-defense, death penalty, etc.
Execution is a penalty that serves the public and punishes the individual. Vengeance serves only the individual. Not the same. Where is this in the Bible?
Thanks thats all I wanted was logic for your statement. Glad to see that you feel strongly about your believes thats a good thing imo.
Romans 12:19 and Hebrews 10:30, as much as you want to interpret it that way. Its still judgement. Execution doesnt serve the public at all, its a final judgement against an individual for a crime, which takes a persons life. It is the same as judgement. maybe the fact of the matter is, that everyone has their own interpretation of scripture.
Yet conservatives oppose abortion on all grounds including the "life" of the mother. Why is this not also murder?
That's funny, lay blame at the foot of conservatives for not supporting the love children of the lazy and irresponsible. what? life issues? And it won't be a Constitutional right for long..... :rolleye33: There ya go, kill 'em all.
For not supporting the lives the conservative government storm troopers would force into existence against the wishes of their families. Try the death penalty, how quick you forget. :dis: Yeah? You figure Obama is going to appoint some conservative judges?
