    This!
It starts upfront, JJ definitely has to get better in many aspects of being a QB, but Peyton Manning would be slightly more than average with this line.

Great post. You are probably spot on, that the O-line and coaches are more to blame than JJ. I do remember when Satan (Saban) was our coach, and he always made it a wide open position every spring on who would start at QB. I also believe that Jimbo was a fantastic QB coach.

One thing I remember about recruiting back then, is the multitude of OL prospects we signed. I do feel that Les has not been as instrumental about recruiting and keeping OL talent. I would have thought with his background that he would have hit a homerun for LSU.

    +1

The problem is we do not have a coach to groom Garrett so we can only hope if he does win the starting job next year with a new OC (prayers answered), his athletic ability is on par with his mental ability. It would be a nice change at the QB spot.

Whats that, like next season right? :hihi:

As for JJ, I don't know if he will get better or not. My advice to the OC would be to just let him roll out on every pass play. Cat is pretty good throwing from a trot vs. the pocket where he is terrible. Guess we will have to wait for nothing to be done by the administration and see what the ICP rolls out next year vs what could be a quite dangerous tarheel squad.

You could easily argue that Jordan Jefferson looked no better in game 13 vs game 1 of this season.

    That's a problem.

just get Jefferson some damned help. Coaches didn't ask Matt Flynn or Matt Mauck to go out and win every game for LSU, but they are doing that with Jordan Jefferson?????? Get the kid a great running game, and good protection, coupled with the defense progressing, he should be fine.

I agree. If Jefferson had the right stuff, we'd know it by now. But he's all we've got, so it's time to craft a passing game that he can handle, Mr. New Passing Game Coordinator.

Not until CLM pumps that damed shunt in the top of his head and realize he has better guys riding the pine because they are not an "upper classmen" I agree that some degree of loyalty should be shown but if you get beat on the practice field then you sit and watch that Freshman or Soph show you how to block.
