One thing is becoming pretty clear. The BIG 12-2 isn't going to last more than a few years longer and the reason of course is the Longhorn Network. If the BIG 10+? ever invites Missouri they are gone and now A&M has all of a sudden realized they are always going to play second fiddle to Texas unless they make a move. Moneywise it would be a good move for the SEC to add both A&M and Missouri. They are a lot of TV sets in Saint Louis, Kansas City, Houston, Dallas etc., etc..

Personally I like things the way they are. I think it would hurt LSU recruiting Texas players, especially Houston area players. If they want to play in the SEC, and that is quite a selling point, just go up the road a ways to A&M. College Station is about 75 miles from the Houston city limits.

I don't know about that, but since you brought Arky up...

I contend that a move to the SEC would help aTm just as it has helped Arky and USCe. Sure, neither have won the conference since joining, but both get a helluva lot more attention and have had some solid years. (USCe at least has gotten a lot of PRESEASON hype over the years)

All are good points but most people forget that Arkansas was the whipping boy of the conference with A&M and look what the SEC has done for them. A&M has 50000 students, a huge, fanatic , wealthy fan base. They travel well and were a really fun opponent way back when. I believe this move would help their recruiting, help our recruiting, and be a real kick in the butt for the Longhorns. I'd love to see it happen. I think tough competition is a lot more fun than playing the likes of Towson

That's only because Spurrier has kicked Garcia off the team, like once a year for the last decade, isn't he about 30 now...

I think you may be correct, they would become a decent natural rival again

If they did, how would we align the conference, or would we pick up a school in the east?

    Georgia Tech
    Clemson
    Florida St

Then the ACC would have to rebuild

The ACC sucks anyway... I'd rather see Florida St. come into the East... they seem to have the most upside than most of their conference peers.

    Georgia won't have it.

    South Carolina won't have it.

    Florida won't have it.

Chris Lowe has mentioned Va Tech as a better fit.

I think what you will see instead is aTm pulling big12 kids into the SEC from Texas and Oklahoma... Little Billy can still play in front of mom but do it in the SEC on ESPN.
