Non-issue at the moment, they can "want" to move to the SEC but until the SEC invites them it is nothing more than breath over a birthday candle.

Couldn't agree with you more about everyone at eATMe having the same opinion. It's because they pass around the Kool Aid at fish camp. Why anyone would go to a school with male cheerleaders is beyond me.

Most Tea Sips I know have had something put in their tea as well, which is eerily similar to that of the Ags. I have a buddy living outside of Austin and he throws up in his mouth a little each morning reading the sports page. I will agree with you though that it is at least possible to have a realistic conversation with some Horns fans about their team. An Aggie...the Austin media... so much.

UT looks down their noses at the Aggies. UT is a little more "hoity toity" and think that ATM is a cow college. It's essentially the same relationship Alabama and Auburn share.

Not WERE pissed, try STILL pissed. Alums I know mention it all the time.

While the arguments about A & M joining the SEC and hurting us may be true, in my heart, I'd love to play those suckers every year again. They are SO much fun to hate, and I think we'd finally have a REAL rival for us--nothing would have to be made up!

A&M to the SEC is pretty much a given. Let's hope the east get's a tougher team because the SEC is becoming too west heavy, especially if Florida isn't a contender for a couple of years.

I agree. In addition we would get more SEC TV coverage and discussion on the sports talk stations in Dallas. As a side benefit it would piss of Texas fans something terrible and I love to see Texas fans unhappy.

Anyone who thinks A&M can't become SEC quality don't know the Aggies and their supporters. I also believe you've forgotten Arkansas who was the beating boy of the old conference and look at them today. A&M supporters and fans have money and are rabid fans and good game travelers. I believe A&M, in the SEC, would help LSU recruiting, genrally help A&M, and hurt the Longhorn recruiting-big time.

I don't see aTm hurting us. If anything it would make us better. We have our pick of the litter now and that won't change much. aTm might be a bit more competitive in recruiting east Texas kids, and they'll get a few Louisiana kids, but I don't see that as hurting us.

Plus, I like the idea of having a more natural rival. The teams we consider our number one rivals don't consider us their #1. We're not Bama's chief rival. Auburn and Tennessee are, even if we've been more competitive with Bama lately. The rivalry is certainly headed towards epic proportions though. We're not Florida's chief rival. We're behind Georgia and Florida State in that pecking order. We're probably Ar-Kansas' chief rival at this point, but I don't believe the feeling is all too mutual. Same with Ole Miss. I know the history is there for a genuine rivalry with Ole Miss but these days, despite our problems with them, they're barely more than a hiccup because they're not SEC contenders. aTm fits the bill because they loathe us for whatever reason.

I'd love to see the East get Va. Tech but I suspect it'll be FSU or Clemson...or Ga. Tech coming back to the fold.

I don't see this happening unless UT forces the issue. I believe A&M is flirting with the SEC to get a reaction out of Texas. Wether A&M likes to admit it or not their WHOLE identity is tied to hating UT. Their fight song is an anthem against UT. Its part of the wierd Aggie culture. The students and their alumni parents hate UT from birth. If they left they would lose their identity. Would they schedule a UT OOC game every year while playing in the SEC? They are trying to stand up to big UT and hope UT gives in.

It is a dysfunctional relationship that will end with the elements of a 911 call, gun, booze, a wife beater t-shirt......and neither will leave because they love each other.

aTm would be in line with the Mississippi schools to play spoiler, but they could never contend with the powers in the SEC. They will lose more games per year than they do now, possibly missing out on bowl games, and that would not be good for their program or our conference.

Being IN the SEC doesn't make you a powerhouse. Ask Vandy. We don't need to water down the SEC by bringing in more doormats.

I agree, although as of right now they might be more talented then Arkansas, definitely around that tier of talent.
