A lot of people in Louisiana want LSU to go to the Sugar Bowl

The best thing for college football is for Florida to get snubbed from the BCSNCG. Even if you want Florida to go, this would be another great outrage that would force a +1 game or Final Four at least. Then we might be arguing if we or Louisville deserved the 4 spot.

 

As much as I want to play USC in the ROse, the BCS screwed AU in 2004 possibly Fla in 2006.
When is it going to be us?

Quite simply unless there's a playoff, only conf. champions should play for the nc.

I would be elated if we end up in the rose, but i would lose more and more faith in the NCAA if mich played ohio st.

i just watched the sports reporters, they love to say that mich only lost by 3 to OSU on the road and harp on fla's escape against so car. anyone who watched the mich-ohio st game knows the game wasn't as close as the score but no one has said that yet. and they also pretend like fla played teams like western carolina all season. they had the toughest schedule in the nation.

knowing that this could happen to us one day makes me nervous. i really want the rose, but for the good of coll football, there should be no rematch.

i stand by my earlier statement. if mich goes to the nc and plays ohio st and wins, then mich and ohio st should split the nc.

I agree with this. It has to get even more ugly before something is done about it. University of Florida president has now stated that if Fla. does not play for the championship there should be playoffs. I believe he may be the first. Let the dominos fall.

 

There will always be someone better off than someone else. I put in my application for Rose bowl tickets and even if I don't luck up, I'm going to Pasadena. I'm a poor college student with MUCH higher priorities, but if it takes me ten years to pay for the trip, so be it. Do I want to see LSU blow out ND? Not really. I'd rather see our offense against SC's defense and vice-versa.

Remember that a lot of people will still be able to party in New Orleans despite where LSU plays. Gotta love HDTV, baby.

 

I disagree. I watched it and it was as close as the score indicated. Just because neither team could stop one another doesn't mean it wasn't close. Look at the SEC championship game. I don't care if Florida just so happens to be in the SEC, they are NOT the 2nd best team in the country. OSU would rip them another one--or two or 12.

 

That poll was not limited to Louisianians.

 

I'm not so sure. The Gators would have a month to let the nagging injuries heal and study/game plan OSU. By the time they would play OSU would have been off for what, six weeks? I think it's a moot discussion anyway. My gut tells me it will be OSU - UM in the MNC anyway.

Okay, so by your logic OSU would also have time to heal and/or gameplan for Florida, right? I see your point, but I'm not so sure that anyone could beat OSU right now. I understand that we could all debate this until we're blue-in-the-face but the fact of the matter is that the game still needs to be played. I wouldn't want to see another rematch of teams from the same conference, but unfortunately the BCS leaves that possibility open. It needs a MAJOR revision and or replacement, ASAP. I think there should be a playoff system, it's obvious that that's the only real way to choose a true champion. Let's face it guys, it is inevitable that teams will get screwed. We've seen it in 2004 and will probably see it again this season.

DO you guys honestly feel that UF being picked over UM to play OSU will erradicate any possiblity of teams getting screwed by the BCS in the future? Nah, the system is already flawed, let's just hope for the Rose.
