Twice you made derisive remarks about the "flag on the mountaintop" thing. Your initial post on the Jimbo subject was OK but then you added this little gem: If you want to make your not so subtle digs, go right on ahead, but expect to get some flak.
CA is a long-time and generally polite poster here, so I'll cut him some slack for one back-handed insult. This time. I walk the line on the Auburn board, too. And it is often a thin line between an innocent comment and an insult. But it ain't invisible.
Why does it seem that every positive thread turns into a bickering contest? As the great philosopher/rap star, Rodney King, said, "why can't we just get along?". It is a great time of the year. Both the football team and the basketball teams are undefeated. A native of Baton Rouge won the olympics gymnastics title. An SEC star is the fastest human on the planet. We still have a few LSU boys contending for a medal. Life is good.
Good question and one I've thought about. There have always been heated arguments going on at FSA, but the trend moved over to sports 2 basketball seasons ago when the Brady posts got started up. Last season they really got heated and sides were staked out. Once Bush/Kerry got going, both sides began getting serious and neither was budging. A lot of normally "non-political" posters got involved in the Bush v. Kerry thing and emotions were running high. Once football fever struck, we pretty much directed our anger toward the media and rivals but along comes the Marcus Randall discussions. I am a Brady/Bush/Randall supporter. Some are Brady/Bush/Randall bashers. We are gonna fight. When we get the chance to direct that anger toward an Auburn, Oregon State or Texas fan, we do it with a vengeance. I'd like to see a warmer and fuzzier board at times, but when I get riled I can be pretty nasty.
"One back-handed insult", that's a laugher red55. You obviously overlook all the rest of them so you can post on the Auburn board and not get smoked for being a LSU fan. Well you keep kissin ass over there, their will be no slack cut for this Auburnt snake around here.
