BCS Championships aren't mythical... They are won on the football field, unlike AP titles.

So, Stoops and Carroll get a free pass when having to rebuild their elite programs, but Miles doesn't get the same consideration--especially from the fans of his team. "Yeah, but Stoops lost his QB and had NO ONE ELSE to back him up." "Yeah, but Pete Carroll lost his QB in the draft and had NO ONE ELSE to back him up." But when Miles lost RP, it was all on him that he didn't have anyone around to back him up.

With all due respect, those who criticize Miles while making apologies for other teams' shortcomings seem to be also lacking in the perspective department.

I've seen you say this many times before but aren't you really just pushing more speculation that RP "would have" been any better..

And you are sure that Lee/Jefferson would have done better... Do you have a magic eight ball or something??

No...because all of Miles' success has been piggybacked off of Nick Saban's success! Indeed, like it or not, no one else is more responsible for LSU's success in this decade more than Nick Saban. Hell, he is primarily responsible for Miles' success.

Your daddy's success was because of LSU. By your logic, if LSU never hired Saban, he'd never be the awesome guru in the SEC and failure of NFL that he is. His best season was 9-2 at MSU and lost to Washington (Maybe it was Wisconsin, don't know don't care) and Purdue. So in that situation, had LSU not hired him, maybe he'd be playing second fiddle somewhere else. Nick Saban has nothing to do with this thread and you sir are not contributing anything of substance anywhere.

Get over yourself dude…Miles didn’t have to do nearly the rebuilding job either of those teams had to do this year and until the very end of the season after it was already too late and after Miles had already royally stunk up the season, we were relatively injury free.

Moreover, besides Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford, All American tight end Jermaine Gresham didn’t suffer a season ending injury at the beginning of the season? Not to mention the centers and other offensive lineman the Sooners had to shuffle to make it through the season was staggering. Hell, just at center alone they had to start four different players.

Well what was Miles excuse this year Mr. Perspective? How many more free passes and apologies do you want to give him?

Read it and weep. Nick Saban has everything to do with LSU’s success since without him there are no mythical national championships and probably not nearly as many winning seasons. Moreover, it was also Nick Saban who was responsible for getting all our facilities updated. He is and was 10 times the coach that Miles is. So don’t try to sell his contribution short just because you can’t get over the fact that he is human and made a mistake when he left LSU.

Also without Saban, Miles doesn’t under perform and get 11 win seasons in 2005 & 2006, nor does he get lucky and back his way into the mythical national championship in 2007.

Now since Jimbeaux Fisher has left the program, we are seeing the true coaching ability of Miles coming to the fore. In any event, don’t get your hopes up for next season, because you will just end up being very disappointed again for the third year in a row. Indeed, I don’t care how loaded with talent LSU is, with our current coaching staff 8 & 5 or 9 & 4 is about the best we can hope for.

Despite your wet dream about Nick Saban, he won with DiNardo's recruits and piggybacked off of DiNardo. If you hold one coach to one standard of analysis, you have to hold the other one to that standard as well.

I guess Bama was lost in the woods until Savior Saban arrived?
