The math is quite simple. Wall Streeters can afford cocaine and those in poor neighborhoods can't. Wall Streeters are not shooting up their neighborhood to gain a foothold on the drug trade. Those in poor neighborhoods are. I've never heard of a drive-by on Wall Street.
i think there is something to it. if it was made illegal because of racism and its still illegal.... i started the thread and im no user. im very much against their use, but i think there is a lot of evidence that the efforts of the last 30 yrs are futile. the new data from the portugal example may negate some of the major criticisms of decriminalization. i wonder where ron paul stands on this issue?
I don't. I think it is still illegal becasue we have a bumbling government that thinks it is better to fight a "war on drugs" than to do what is obviously right. I can't imagine that Ron Paul is a prohibitionist. The Portugese information is neat, but I would immediately question the scale.
i remember that guy W, he was ok. he tried to do extreme things like reduce the size of the massive social security entitlement program. red used his extreme-ometer and determined it was bad policy. the only prudent policy is to always grow the size of government, never reduce.
Yes, he failed to cut SS. But he succeeded in massively increasing government size and debt with "No Child" and the Medicare Prescription Drug Plan.
