Obviously a poor choice of shots at the end. However, GT was shooting really well tonight and was feeling it from outside. I can see why he put the shot up. He was playing with confidence. Nothing wrong with that. In fact, it is great to see his offensive game developing so well. Too bad he was just a little bit too confident there at the end.
i have no idea why GT took that shot. taz was right there open and wanting the ball and im sure tx wasnt focusing on glen
i thought one was probably telling the other not to guard him, but to guard him farther out. abrams wasnt unguarded, he shot over the D. not a bad shot for them to take from LSU's perspective.
We lost to a good team, it's early to look at whether they are ranked or not.... we didn't loose because of one shot, we lost because they had too many clear paths to the goal, too many second shots, and we missed too many shots under the goal. We obviously didn't play our best but I give them credit too, they are fast and played well.
besides by just watching the game and the many plays that were made (by both sides), you should realize rankings dont necessarily mean anything. tx is "unranked" yet this was their THIRD straight win against a top 10 team. sure sounds to me like tx is a top ten team---you can also reasonably conclude that lsu is too, after losing in ot and beating #6.
Anyone else actually at this game tonight? I was there and I don't know how well it showed on tv, but the Longhorns wanted that game. We did outmatch them, but the uncontested layups were ridiculous. I am not talking about one vs one and the player gets beaten either. Our big men almost never collapsed in the lane. It is fairly basic defense. It was a very exciting game, but our defense ( which we used to always be known for ), was glaringly lacking. I only hope January finds big improvements and more focus. Texas has a good team and some very young talent. Congrats to them...
Was an exciting game...Durant is for real, and they have a ton of young guys who should make some noise come March. I really thought that our experience would win us this game once it reached OT. Taz had fouled out before the last shot so he couldn't take the shot. No disrespect to GT, but I don't think it matters how much GT was feeling it, you don't take a 3 when down 1. You draw up a play to give Big Baby the ball, he will either score or go to the line. He's not our All American/leader who should let the guards decide the game. When is Lazaare coming back? Rolle is not the answer to TTime's leaving us...maybe he will get it together for conference play but I don't see anything from him right now...same goes for Voogd. How about Martin? Will he be ready to start next month?
im encouraged by the game. temple and taz are shooting better almost consistantly from 3. glen is learning when to give the ball up. assists, steals and turnovers are very good. tack played better (considering his past). i know it was only one play, but how bout at the end--passing up the shot, driving and pulling up for a j (not some crazy spinngin, windmill layup) would have won the game if lazare had played, no doubt. missed his beef inside. especially gonna need him with glen playing outside on O more. btw, tx clearly had better athletes.
At first I thought that last shot was stupid but the more I think about it... Texas was in the zone. With 17 seconds there was no time to work around to get a shot inside BUT once an outside shot is in the air it frees up the lane. I think the odds were to take that shot with 7 left...grab the rebound if there was a miss and take the 1 point win. The ball took a bad bounce after the shot. I think Temple took a shot that was a little too far out from what they wanted. I really think that was what was called. At best he hits the three...if he missed I think they counted on the put back in the paint because he took that shot with plenty of time left to put one in. At worst is what happened. The ball took a bad bounce and left us no chance for the put back.
