9/14 Coaches Poll released: lovefest for USC, Okla to #2, LSU at #6, OSU at #14

I would just like to know which USC is not even being considered for probation. Maybe I am just a little sensitive about this, but we did wrong, and got a heavy punishment, Auburn did wrong(not a lot of money passed hands) and they were harshly punished. Why not USC, and they are not even treading something coming down. Before we went on probation, we waited for 2 years to find out what was going to happen, and even gave up some scholarships before hand. USC is not doing anything, because they know nothing will happen to them. Why do the other teams not question this? I would think that LSU would want them to be punished because they should have to forfeit all games that Reggie Bush played in, and that would mean that they would not share the championship.
I would feel this way about any team getting away with something, but I truly just do not like USC.

 

I've been yelling at the top of my lungs about the USC - skating situation for a year now. Mark my words (I hope I have to eat them). The NCAA is selective and NOTHING will happen to USC for ANY infraction. Pete Carroll is the Bill Clinton of college football.

 

they can show bush was crooked, but that doesnt equal institutional knowledge. id guess thats what theyre having a hard time "proving" and why their not moving on it.

plus it tough to do investigations of people out of college football.

 

Bama My Heart - If LSU would have been forced to cut the Crystal Football in half and give the other half to USC, then we might really be concerned about USC receiving probation, etc. However, we own the entire BCS National Championship Trophy. So we don't REALLY look at it like we shared a National Championship. If other people want to say that, it's fine. To each his own. And I don't really dispute it. But we all know what game you want to be playing in if you want to win the National Championship. USC has their AP National Championship from that year and that is fine. But if the AP Poll really matters, why do basically all of the stations only post each team's BCS ranking after week 6 or whatever it is?

USC is a great team that is very well coached. If they aren't playing by the rules, then they have to live with that. It may not bother them, who knows? As long as LSU isn't going on probation, that's all I'm concerned about.

I disagree with the notion that UGA shouldn't be penalized for their wins. UGA was "thought" to be the #1 team before a single game was played. Two games in, I think it's quite clear they aren't the #1 team. Therefor you must adjust the rankings accordingly. Personally, I don't think UGA is even the #3 team.

we hit this on another thread, but not exactly. a win there early in the season is a top win though. their D is legit.
