You have shown that you really just have no concept of, well anything. Obama has not added troops, troops have been sent over to simply replace troops that have already been here for 7-12 months. What are we going to do, just make them stay for two years until the pullout is complete? No, we're going to continue to rotate units in and out, just not as many as we have in the past. As for "he as proven he has no intention of bringing them home"? BS. The original security agreement called for all American forces to be out of Iraq by the end of 2011. Obama has pushed that up to August 31, 2010. Next summer. I can tell you with 100% certainty that our footprint in Iraq is much smaller - we're operating out of fewer bases and have turned a lot over to the Iraqi government. The drawdown continues. The Marine Corps will be out of Iraq by the end of next Spring and by the end of the summer, all American forces, save for a few that will remain to help train the Iraqi Army, will be gone. And this isn't inside or secret information, you can do a Google search on the subject and fine numerous articles. There is obviously more to it, but that I cannot go into. You said you supported him over McCain because he said he would bring the troops home and then indicated you were upset because it hasn't happened yet. That shows you wanted it to happen by now. It's happening. But again, you can't pull hundreds of thousands of troops out of a combat zone immediately. It takes time, logistics, and assurances that violence levels are at an acceptable enough level for us to leave. It's going to happen, but we're going to be responsible about it. I didn't even vote for Obama (nor do I support him politically), but I'll even give him the benefit of the doubt when it comes to how he's been running the military.
All the reports about troops have shown that he is puting more troops there. Its doesnt say anything about replacing. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/27/washington/27prexy.html Maybe reading this might claify what Im tring to say.
in reply to this.... do you even realize that not only are you arguing what is going on with the military with an active duty marine, but if that werent bad enough, you arent even arguing about the country he is talking about???? you do understand that iraq and afghanistan are two different countries, dont you????
I'm not sure he does. I find it funny to listen to these clowns talk about things they know nothing about.
Re: 9/11: Conspiracy? Now that is funny. He might as well argue with the Generals in command of the US forces. Never argue with someone who is part of the story.
Have you been following the thread,{edited} . Ive been talking about troops in afghanistan, iran, iraq, pakistan.
THere are a few around here that would rather have a personal attack war, rather than a civial disscussion. Okie seems to be the ring leader. Ive been trying to say, as seen in this post. Obama is adding troops dont just look at iraq look at the whole body of work, he has added and will continue to add troops to the miidle east.
then you need to take some reading comprehension courses so you can understand what you read on conspiracy web sites. not to mention that tf23 was talking about one very specific country. for one thing, i dont believe we have troops in iran. (yet.) two. iraq and afghanistan are two seperate wars. our resident marine was specifically addressing the war in IRAQ. your reply referenced a completely different country, AFGHANISTAN. if you are gonna argue, for god's sake, make it about the same freaking subject.
Holy cow!!!!!!! I think I will keep reading for awhile and see where this goes! And I don't have any popcron but I do have wine! Can I get a smiley drinking wine???
