Yeah, I know. Sounds like fun don't it!!! FTR, I would take the D-Main all day long, you know they get sh!t like ice and eggs that ain't green? But that's why I dig em. They dog and pony all day long, handle the barn like your in the Army (no easy life) and still have to troop, qualify, and tank from time to time. Them some pretty busy fuggers, for REMF's...
Ok, well whatever you are seeing is either wrong or you are misinterpreting it. Secondly, I'm actually here, so I think I may know what I'm talking about. Everything else was covered by other posters, so I won't belabor it until I read ahead and see what other nutty things you will have inevitably said.
Tiger10, don't take this the wrong way, but I have a few observations: 1) You are WAY out of your league here. 2) You have to be of high school age, judging by the way you post and think in general. To answer why we are moving troops out of Iraq and into Afghanistan, it's simple. As far as Iraq goes, it's time to turn the country over to them. We've been here long enough and the security situation is such that they're ready to take the reins. There is a lot going on behind the scenes that I'm not at liberty to speak of here, but it is going to be a well-planned and responsible drawdown. As for Afghanistan, read the news. The situation is getting very dire over there. The Taliban is smarter, more resourceful, and nuttier than they were when we smashed their azzes back in the earlier part of this decade. We need more troops out there to fight them. The war is winnable, but we need the civilians on our side - kind of like what we did in Iraq. We need to win their favor so that they won't side with the Taliban. The problem is that the Taliban threaten and kill and do all sorts of the crazy radical crap you read about these days. It will definitely be a tough one, but time will tell. I do concede that it does not need to be drawn out like OIF has.
you seriously b!tch about our guys being stationed a couple blocks from some of the most beautiful beaches in the world? at our own military base? in a country that's got no beef with us?
No name calling will be tolerated. Bash the posters comments, not the poster. Nothing wrong with that. People have to ask questions to learn. We've got a lot of minor-leaguers here. Yep. Past time. That's already happened. We let Al Qaida get away at Tora Bora and they'll never be caught now. The Taliban are now fighting the foreigners in their country and get new recruits every day from the locals. It's just like the Russians in 1979. We can't win a guerilla war in Afghanistan, no one ever has. Even Alexander the Great had to let it go. We cannot turn Afghanistan into a democracy, there has never been one there. When we leave, they will fight it out and some war lord will take over. We can't remake Afghanistan into West Virginia, we just need to hold them accountable. We're in a position now to make them believe us when we say that we'll be back large and in a very bad mood if they don't behave like a third-world country should. We need promise the Afghans that if they allow Al Qaida or anyone else to use Afghanistan for bases to attack the US, the B-52's will return and the Predator drones and Special Ops troops, if necessary.
Damn, dude. Learn to spell or quit posting. Your posts are like fingernails on a blackboard.:angryfire
