Yes. We should all try to be like the Democrats have been since Gore lost. :dis: He is not my leader and that is not what he said. Rush said he wants Obama's socialistic (in his opinion) policies to fail.
Don't forget that Obama also inherited the worst Congress of all time led by his own party. Many of our problems in this country are a result of his own leaders (Pelosi, Reid, Frank) and their insistence on being obstructionists with the Bush administration. Maybe it's not exactly what you said but it sure seems like you're setting expectations very low for Obama so we can then proclaim he and his party are doing a wonderful job if they meet the slighest of benchmarks. I'm still not buying it. You make a lot of comments in here belittling anyone who doesn't completely agree with you but you're probably the least equitable person on this site. Try holding Obama to the same standards in which you held Bush. They could do the exact same thing yet you would criticize one and kiss the other's rear. Play fair red or you'll truly become a Democrit. I thought you were an Independent.
Well it is no different than you calling Bush a failure or me saying that Jimmy Carter failed. Both men had more experience than Obama and couldn't get it done. What makes you think Obama can become a good president or leader when he has only been a senator for such a limited time. Lets face it, he's only been a community organizer, nothing else! Obama will fail because he will increase the government like Bush did, the tax base will shrink and those with tax gifts will increase. There is no fiscal responsibility in DC, we will spend and increase government without the tax base or increases to support it. Honestly, I don't know what to think. You seem to not know anything about Obama's actions or words. That is untrue. Are you saying that Obama hasn't down played the effect the stimulus will have on the economy or that he hasn't had such a negative outlook on it? Another thing, you and no one has answered any of my questions that I think need to be looked at, they are very reasonable concerns about the future of this country. It seems like with some of you DC is only accountable when a republican is running the show. I know you guys are trying to avoid difficult questions. How much money are we going to throw away over how many years because we've had it too good in this country for so long economically speaking. Why do you people think we can spend more money and it will fix the problem? Obama will be Jimmy Carter on steroids! Btw, Have you looked at GM's stock lately? GM is another example of why Obama will fail. You can throw all the money you want in that well and it will continue to run dry. Unless reform happens in the auto industry and government at this point they both are now in the red and will continue to spiral into uncharted territory.
If anyone cares, I think I may have found an answer to my question that no one seems to know the answer to. Or at least cared about the question enough to answer it for me. :hihi:| For the record, that is not me asking her either. ASK MARILYN
You mean the democratic Congress who signed on for the Iraq war and also for the Bush Wall Street bailouts? Yeah, pretty obstructionist all right. :rolleye33: Well, it's what he said. Here it is straight from Limbaugh's own website, mon ami.
and here's the part you left out, since like Obama's press corps (99% of the national media) you cherry-picked the parts of the statement that work out to your advantage:
Get real. This isn't a chat room, it's a forum for political debate and I argue my side of it. You'll just have to argue your own. You cry that I'm not fair for criticizing Bush when I can offer 8 years of reasons why he failed. Yet you relentlessly criticize Obama for what you imagine that he might do. And you try to chastise me for holding Obama to the same standards? You know I didn't turn on Bush until 2003. I gave him the opportunity to succeed until he demonstrated his incompetence to be President. I'm not in love with Obama, I supported Hillary. Obama may yet fail and lose me, too . . . but it hasn't happened yet. I am, but there are no independents in the executive office. I get to decide which ones I think are competent or incompetent. Partisans blindly follow their party . . . right over the cliff if necessary and vote in lockstep with the party. I have voted for many republicans and democrats over the years and a rare few independents. Right now it is obvious to me which President/party has failed and I'm counting on the other party to turn things around. Obama just might fail too, or he may go in a direction that I cannot support . . . but so far he has done nothing I have a major problem with.
Here is the difference. Bush and Carter have a record of giant political failures. Obama has just been elected. I'll give him the opportunity to fail before jumping his case. Do you really want more of the same of what we've gotten since 2000? I've read his book, have you? I've gone through his entire website where his polices are laid down in black and white, have you? I read the newspaper daily and I watch more than FOXnews. Be specific, what do I not know about Obama's words or actions? That's what I'm saying. Where is your evidence that he has? It can't fix all problems, it will in fact create some. But the prospect of complete economic collapse cannot be ignored. This infusion should keep the free-market economy working and get cash flowing again, so that loans can be found and business can expand, hire, and purchase materials in order to create more wealth. It's not money wasted if it's spent in America.
