I believe its his dad , "Father McCartney" ? Yes Strawberry fields is really a transition song taking their music to a different level, very far from the stage and into the studio. You could see the direction they were headed when Rubber Sould was released @ the end of 1965 (the year I was born !) with such gems as Norwegian Wood, Nowhere Man and In My Life (the piano riff in that song is unbelievable !! ) QUESTION: Who keeps a ten-bob note up his nose ?
And yes it was his dad. The original line had "father McCartney," but Paul thought his dad would be freaked out by it so he changed it...
Why its none other than "Mean Mr. Mustard" : Mean Mister Mustard sleeps in the park Shaves in the dark trying to save paper Sleeps in a hole in the road Saving up to buy some clothes Keeps a ten-bob note up his nose Such a mean old man Such a mean old man His sister Pam works in a shop She never stops, she's a go-getter Takes him out to look at the queen Only place that he's ever been Always shouts out something obscene Such a dirty old man Dirty old man QUESTION: Just who is Mean Mr. Mustard's sister anyway ?
Not sure who Pam exactly was, but I know the polythene part came from some night John spent with a poet friend the poet friend's girlfriend. They all dressed up in Polythene and slept in it...Was Pam his friends girlfriend?
After the fab four moved from Liverpool to London, who was the only beatle that ended up being the only "London Beatle?"
Yes its Polythene Pam "she's so good looking that she looks like a man ... yes you could say she was attractively built ... yeah, yeah, yeah " Don't know if Pam was fictional or real but I'm sure there is a story behind it.
The reason, I asked about the only real "London Beatle," was because in London, there are a whole consortium of London Beatle Tours...But the interesting thing is, only one of the Beatles actually lived in London for a good part of the '60's...( the all at one time had flats or lived in London, but only one stayed...The rest moved out of the city in around 65 I think)
Sir James Paul McCartney I do believe. All the others moved outside of London, I think even Brian Epstein did as well. QUESTION: Who came up with the name "The Beatles". SIDENOTE: There is some controversy surrounding this, thus there really isn't an answer.
