[QUOTE="TheRealist, post: 1514464, member: 17587"The stadium could be empty and it wouldn't matter.[/QUOTE] The fucked up part is we have 1 home game left so all's forgotten till the first week of November next year. Same shiit, different season... Aint gonna change...
I think Miles may feel Steele was a mistake..........the defense doesn't look close to what we are used to.
Hypothetically speaking, if Miles were to get rid of Steele after the season he would just be a scapegoat. While I do think Steele has not shown anything to keep him here the fact is it's beyond just a DC. It starts at the top. Miles has not done a good job, it is showing in the culture of the team, not just the D. The same with the OC issues we had years ago when all along it was Miles.
LSU under Miles is basically the same footprint as Tennessee under Phil Fulmer. You know you'll sorta be in contention for a conference championship... but fall short and/or implode along the way. Problem is what happens if you get rid of the guy. LSU as a University will have to be extremely careful on how they approach any changes... particularly the head coach variety. JMO Sucks watching a team under-perform and still win more than you lose ... just imagine a losing season tho (see: Florida and Tennessee coaching forays and how thing can change dramatically for extended periods...)
that's a very good analogy to fulmer and his last several seasons....what one must realize is we are usually given too much respect and ranked higher than we should be, then we beat up on weak ooc teams and eek out early sec games against the easiesr of our sec foes, so all of a sudden we are deep into the top 10...then the fraud is uncovered later in the season
I would add that we all had relatively low expectations to start the year. A new DC and a true sophomore QB that was as green as grass. We all new what would happen but had the wool pulled by mediocre teams in Auburn and Moo U. The first decent teams we have played came in the last 2 weeks. With that said I think we can beat Ole Miss, but maybe not in their house. I feel good about TA&M as well since they can't stop the run. I still think 9-3 or 8-4 depending on the bowl game. The key will be improvement next year. Can Steel and O get their guys in? Can Harris take the next step? If they lose the next 2 and the bowl game. I think Miles starts to take some heat. If next year we don't see major improvements in the weak areas his seat is going to get very hot. If it wasn't for the rediculous run in 2011 because of that insane defense he might not be here. But losing in a championship game is a pretty successful season by everyone not named Alabama and LSU.
Fans need to put pressure on the Powers that Be, TAF and LSUAD by not going to the A+M game. They listen when they see empty seats in Tiger Stadium. Remember the last few games of the DiNardo tenure? The stadium was empty!
I think "we" should stage a Mizzou style "hunger strike" by the guys on this forum......only problem is with some of us we would be "there" a significant amount of time before any results were seen!
