You are right about Coach O. He did not have involvement with the X's and O's and play calling. He did not subject this team to antiquated football philosophies that handcuff the assistant coaches and stifle the talent on this team.
I challenge you to deep dive into any thread of the past 4 months and find a single post where someone said CEO was the one who built the offense or coached up Burreaux. What he did do, what his predecessor failed to do (and maybe he'd still be here if he had), and what everyone hear knows he did, was recognize the problems the team was having, recognize his own mistakes, quickly and decisively take steps to fix the problems/mistakes, and then got out of the way and let people do their jobs.
I'm always baffled when people say O didn't devise gameplans as if it's a negative. Head coaches aren't the ones to do that. Show me one who has in the past 10 years. Maybe Jimbo? Head coaches are overseeing managers of a program who have two major tasks -- identifying and recruiting talent (players and coaches) and then managing and motivating that talent acquired. O is exceptional at both. He didn't let a mistake like Canada linger. He's remedied mistakes and shown an ability to adapt and overcome. The more power he's gotten the better shape the program has been.
