Paralyzed prisoners are a huge burden on the state. A million bucks a year to incarcerate them. Gut shot perps experience extreme pain, but if they recover they can be out picking cotton and cutting cane in the sun on The Farm for 10 or 12 years for a mere 60 grand.
Yes, but then they're also alive to sue the guy who shot them for wrongful injury or some other such bs, causing a further strain on an already-overburdened court system. If you must shoot, friends, shoot to kill.
My father-in-law shot a guy that was trying to rob him back in February of last year. Shot him twice, I think. Once in the chest and again in the stomach (I think is where he shot him).
