Sorry, but I don't criticize people for being wealthy. That's a Democrat ploy: playing the class hatred card. If someone is wealthy, elected official or not, that simply means he or she has been successful. One of the traditional selling points of this country is that anyone can rise from the bottom and be successful and wealth. But God help anyone who actually does that; he will never be forgiven for it. I for one wish there were more millionaires in this country, and wish that I was one of them.

I never want one who votes based on how he is lobbied instead of how his constituents wish.

Example? Clinton had an amazingly successful presidency.

The point is that vast wealth puts these guys out of touch with the realities of life in the middle class. I don't mind that they are wealthy. I just wish there was a better system that doesn't effectively prevent a middle-class person from running for high office.

agree entirely. this is a non-issue.

i also dont buy the "they cant relate" argument. they either favor good policy or they dont. they dont need to "relate".

Where did I criticize someone for being rich? I just pointed out that an awfully large number of our elected officials are. I'd like to be a millionaire myself...but taxes seem to be holding me down.

You just need to have enough money to hire a good enough lawyer and tax man, to hide your assets to allow you to become rich. Or be like the majority of us, and just actually pay the taxes that we are "told" to pay. Gotta keep the man down your know....

high taxes are bad whether they are approved and voted upon by a bunch of rich fellas or bums.

and the sort of high-flyer that bothers to go to best law school and campaign for years and is desperate for power, they are always going to be rich fellas. always. no big deal.

The millionaires in Congress which amaze me are the ones who aren't rich before being elected but then become exceedingly wealthy during their tenure.

    1) We need term limits
    2) We need to vote this current group of clowns out
