It's strange that in the last week of August, we're still a month away from the start of the season. So it's obvious that this season is going to have some additional random variables that will have to be taken into consideration (like having your starting QB contract covid right before playing a top tier team).

So reality needs to be faced. LSU lost a ridiculous amount of talent this year. Can we repeat as SEC champions? Yes, it's possible. Will we? Probably not.

Our three hardest games are at Florida, at Auburn, and Alabama. I'm sure we'll win one, maybe two of these games. All three? Probably not.

Ultimately, it comes down to this. LSU does its best on odd numbered years (2001, 2003, 2007, 2011, 2019). 2020 will probably end with a 9-1, 8-2 season and having to watch that dumb red team east of us represent our division in the SEC championship. But it also will set LSU up for a great 2021 season.

Let's play some football. Geaux Tigers!

All trends have bumps in the road. No reason this can't be one of them

The key to this season is not talent but experience and coming up to speed. We have the horses to win it so. Mac Jones does not scare me in the least bit. The question is how quickly our young guys can become acclimated to playing in the SEC. we certainly have the schedule to make the run. I’m predicting 8-2 with losses to Florida and Alabama because I think we will make some mistakes to show our youth. Brennan throws 35 TDs and 12 INTs.

@islstl, get in here already; it’s damn near fall.

Edit: I’ll as that if Bo can return the defense to elite status, that too could vault us over the edge. We can afford a few mistakes if the D is suffocating like it used to be.

This year feels like one giant practice year. Nothing will count in the end. Just a big "****" if all the conferences dont play. Kind of a weird ass feeling.

As far as I am concerned, LSU will still be defending champs in 2021.

That sums it all up if at least the Power 6 doesn’t ALL play. How do you call that a “championship”?

Well it’s not as if the PAC-12 has been a factor in awhile (apologies GDF).

Ohio State would be the only Big 10 team that would be a factor

Oregon has been to the playoffs as many times as LSU.

Ohio State alone changes everything. Especially THIS season. No USC? No Oregon? Michigan, Nebraska, Penn State. That’s not college football without those teams.
