You’re not getting it Kiki it’s not just one year it’s his whole career. O has baggage some people know about some only a few know about. He has a reputation as a con man and until he does something substantial besides a couple of successful interim stints those who know him will continue to think that. Most are willing to give a chance but their patience with him will be short. Right now you are hearing concern but that will turn to hate if he doesn’t deliver on his promises.

I am getting it, you are not. You can't judge him as a failure or successful in only one full season a season in which he was successful. Only Bama and Georgia were more successful. He was also dealt a shitty hand Pjoe. Lot of players left the team, injuries everywhere (injuries to key players such as Key, Lawrence and Guice) very thin and hurt on the OL, poor recruiting at the QB position by Miles and other issues.

I will be proven right and will admit I was wrong if not.

It's interesting to me, that me talking about a certain former coach draws so much ire from LSU fans. Yet Saban is by far the most mentioned former LSU coach on this board. What has he done for us lately? Do folks need to "Move on & Let it go" etc. regarding Saban?

I agree this year was better than most thought and you are right about starting behind the 8 ball with personnel. Those, like me, who are concerned are looking at his entire career as a coach. I am not judging him from this year, I’ve known him since he played at S. Lafouche although a little older than me. Some of those character flaws that have hurt him before are still present with him. He has done better as of late and I give him credit for the way he has handled some things this year. I also see this year as a success somewhat because it started badly, but I’m still not confident he can improve long term that’s all. Like you I’ll stand up and applaud him if he proves that wrong and I hope he does but I don’t think he will.

That is a great & very truthful post. One of the best ever posted here, imo.

I’m interested in the psychology you are referring to here, this isn’t the first time. Do you think this has always been the case and the internet has just magnified it, or what?

I do look at his past but whereas you see all negative I see more positive. Being given 2 interim head coaching jobs and being pretty damm successful at both is very difficult. Being thrown in instantly to coach a team is a chore my friend. All I am saying here is like all new head coaches he needs time to build his own staff and recruit his own players. One year is certaintly not near enough time to start running him off. 3-4 years unless the team totally starts falling apart. After the Troy loss he showed me at least he can regroup and change what's broken and win.

I’m willing to give him a chance, if he hasn’t improved when his contract is up then we shouldn’t waste anymore time with him.
