I beg to differ, Miles never said anything of the sort! That dude didn’t share goals/philosophy with the public, and certainly didn’t plan on passing the ball at all. If he did, I just couldn’t decipher the MilesSpeak. Btw, I believe Oeaux. I don’t think it’s lip service. I think he is sincere and is part of the motivation in separating himself from Canada’s offensive philosophy early in the year, and then letting him go at the end. He means it, and is moving towards an offense that can score in the SEC. I think we’ll all enjoy watching LSU football on offense. Question still remains, though, will it be enough to beat ALA and FLA?
I am unable to see it. I've really tried. I see O using 2 of the best running backs, maybe the best combo ever assembled on the same team, just running the ball & passing infrequently. Where's the new part I'm missing? I mean Dickson was by far our best Tight End pass catcher at LSU. I'm being serious. I really don't see it. I wonder what E's going to do without Guice, Fournette & 2 or 3 almost completely inexperienced QBs.
Or maybe O was letting Canada cal the plays and not micromanage. I'm not convinced that O is right for the job, but it seems like some of you guys will condemn him no matter what he does. I have no reason to believe O is not serious about the offense he wants to run. Whether he can do it successfully is a legitimate question, but I have no reason to doubt that his intentions are anything other than what he says they are.
He admitted on live TV that he had interfered with the Offense Matt Canada was trying to run. There is tape of it everywhere. O might be "Serious" about what Offense he wants to run, but is he qualified to pick an Offense? Not too many career Defensive Line Coaches, journeymen types, know how to implement any sort of effective Offense. Talk about trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. You don't call a plumber when the power goes out.
He is certainly knowlegable enough to know the type of offense he wants to run. In the same way that a HC with a background in offense knows the type of defense he wants to run. As far as I know, O cut down on the shifts that Canada was calling. I don't know if that was a good idea or not. However, I have seen nothing that indicates that he got into the actual play calling any more than any HC would do.
Was thinking about sending some creepy clowns however will just send Meaux to straighten you out. "Why I oughta"
Jesus Christ guys it's Oeaux's freaking team let him sink or swim with his decisions. I happen to agree with his decision to part ways with Canada. I also liked E's offense last year despite not having any time to install his offense. E will have all spring and summer to do exactly that with the help of Jerry Sullivan. Relax and enjoy the ride
He can point at the TV & say Yaw Yaw I wants dat. You really don't know how low a line coach is on the Coaching totem poll. He teaches Defensive Lineman how to 'Dance" with Offensive Lineman. He's tells them (yells at them) coaching terms he's picked up, like "Shoot dat gap, baw". Also, he very likely did not understand the importance of these "Shifts", which are crucial to that type of Offense. Or he would not have hired him at all. That's an expensive ($1.7 million) faux pas or lack of knowledge, to be learning at the LSU fans expense. There are only 2 types of base college Defense, a 4- 3 or a 3-4. The nickel & dime stuff are added packages, developed by Defensive Coordinators.
Being mighty critical of an interim coach and OC (seem to recall E breaking a bunch of offensive records with one hand behind his back). I know you haven’t forgotten how much talent Miles pissed away, though you’d never admit it.
