Ok "dude" you are missing on your math here. As I stated months ago this team is already young (we played more freshman/red shirted fresh/soph then anyone else in the FBS by a long shot). Yes I agree with you that we are loosing some key players but I personally think this experience will be a wash from this year to last. You have more green players at QB and RB but much more experience going in to this coming year on the oline. I do not disagree we will have ANOTHER young team this coming year. Again IMO this will be a wash.
Nobody has anything specifically against Ensminger. Nobody believes Ensminger will make the offense terrible and that 5-7 is inevitable. To his credit as a player, I still to this day tell people had Charlie Mac played Ensminger vs USC in ‘79 LSU would have won. However - the hire of SE as OC reeks too much of settling . I don’t doubt budget restraints are of issue here. Coach Baby Huey was given in essence a blank check to get an OC a year ago, couldn’t get over his hard on for Kiffin or bust, and ended up screwing the pooch big time with somebody he apparently never wanted. Therefore now a promotion from within is unavoidable. The Big Picture: With the promotion of SE you are going with a pocket passing halfback centered play action off the run offense which will never come within a touchdown of beating Bama. The Ugly Picture: With SE you are telling your fan base ‘Our goal is 11-1. Nobody can beat the Evil Dwarf so what’s the point?’ The Uglier Picture: If that’s indeed the case and they are resigned in the fact that they can’t beat Bama then why fire Elmer? You now essentially have the same offensive philosophy he did. They brought in another head coach and in a year haven’t changed a damn thing . It’s like you tell the wife we’re going to Ruth’s Chris and end up at an Outback. Summary: The SE hire has made many of the faithful question what’s the goal today on South Stadium Drive. Excellence or simply staying afloat?
I guess a lot of us don’t have a lot of faith in Eaux or LSU football. We’ve had years of disappointment now, kinda flinching every time Alleva makes a move now.
Man Oeaux is trying way too hard selling Ensminger as the best OC in the country for lsu. Well E is choked up and he's likable so I'm happy as hell for him. I just hope hes ready for what awaits. Gonna suck if he got baited into something his heart isn't fully in. Because it will be tested. Good luck to us and him.
Orgeron has a hard on for Kiffen because he's hitching his next coaching job to Kiffen's wagon. O wants Kiffen to owe him and take him to Kiffen's next big P5 job. Orgeron's not loyal to LSU...he's loyal to Kiffen.
