QB is not a “wash” i specifically said experience. there is not a single QB on the roster with close to the amount of experience Etling had. I do think Brennan is a more talented QB, but Etling had 24 starts under his belt prior to ‘17. compared to only spot appearances for Brennan and Zero appearances for Narcisse. that’s not a “wash” aside from QB & RB, we also lose top 2 WR and at least 2 O line men. Clapp and Brumfield haven’t announced intentions yet so it’s possible to lose two more. My guys says Brumfield stays. Not sure on Clapp. we also lose Moore. depending on style of offense Steve brings that FB spot may (or may not) be a more crucial spot than it was in ‘17. so we are absolutely less experienced going into ‘18 than we were going into ‘17.
not ignoring anyone. it's simple math dude. the number of exiting experienced players is a larger number than the number of returning players. Even if both players yet to announce (Clapp and Brumfield) both decide to return. and basically all of them were returning experienced players coming into '17 as well. therefore the team coming into '17 was more experienced than the team is going into '18. that is not a knock on anyone. it's just a fact that we will have a young inexperienced team next year.
If you want to go by day 1 starters sure, but we all know that ain’t the case. It’s a very simple and well know fact we were forced to rotate an absurd amount of youth this year at every position minus QB and RB. And we simply will not be downgrading at QB and WR. Cut it anyway you want. We had articles written about 17 FRESHMAN playing game 1 in 2017.
Exactly... Idc if Danny had 100 years of experience, he just wasn't cutting it... My opinion is the 2qbs we have will, no doubt make their fair share of mistakes, but are both way better than Danny... Also, some are saying "and we start with Miami next year" but I say Miami starts with us... Their QB threw 3 ints in the bowl game, got benched against Pitt and threw 14 ints last year...
nope talking about guys who have gotten significant playing time. not even counting number of starts. just actual games participated in. never once used the word downgrading, or even insinuated that the incoming players were less talented.
And I said we are in better position and you went down your own rabbit hole. So don’t try and get technical now. No way we can look at the 2017 roster and think it’s was/is better than heading into 2018 as a whole. Especially considering 3 of our “stars” in 2017 missed games/didn’t play.
