Yep. Awoke to the sounds of gunshots about a half mile behind my house this a.m. Made me wish a i had a place back there like we used to. Killed 350 ducks one season. That is a total for the blind I had. Some days we were 3 hunters.
I don't know what it was like in Bunkie but in Baton Rouge it was hot and humid and not a cloud in the sky during shooting hours. I doubt that many teal were flying low enough to hit.
This is coming from someone who has difficulty remembering what he did yesterday, but I don't remember hunting ducks in September in SW La.
Teal season has been in September for as long as I can remember. It's usually too hot but once in a while the weather cooperates.
I have some friends who killed quite a few. One field there were 7 hunters standing on a levee and got their limit ( 6 each). Teal season is not like big duck season. You can kill plenty in warm weather. There's a reason for the season.
Didn't want to start a new topic, but how's the duck/goose season so far this year? We use to hunt south of Lake Arthur/west of Gueydan. My great Uncle has a huge rice/soybean farm down there.
