They have a shot at winning a first round series against anybody but Houston or Golden State. OKC should be better than they are with Westbrook, Melo and George.

I don't think they beat Okc either but meh, doesn't much matter. Not at this point.

With the Jazz butt stomping GS the Pels won't be playing OKC. Neither team can finish as high as 4th.
Best they can hope for now is 5th or 6th and go on the road vs either Portland or Utah.

Sad thing is you are right, okc has the talent and ability to beat either of those teams, could probably win the whole thing. They just don't have the discipline and the mindset.

Pels smash the Spurs 122-98! We Face Portland in the first round. If Portland beats Utah tonight we're the 6 seed. If Utah wins, we're the 5th seed. GEAUX PELS!!

How does that work? Portland and Utah are playing for the 3 seed. Since the Pels and OKC are mathematically eliminated from anything higher than 5 would the lose of Jazz-Blazers be the 4 seed?
So wouldn't the Pels as the 5 seed play the 4 seed?

If Portland wins Okc gets 4 seed and Utah goes to 5 Portland back to 3.

If Utah wins it stays the same with Okc at 6. Okc plays the jazz either way

So the tiebreaker doesn't come down to the season head to head with OKC?

I would rather play Portland anyway. Pels don't match up well vs Utah.

Utah is the only team we (okc) has the tie breaker via the season series over

NO and OKC are both 48-34. If the Pels hold the tiebreaker edge it would seem like the 5 and 6 positions would already be settled. OK, now I see where if Utah loses they would also be 48-34. Portland is up 17 on the Jazz with 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. That would mean OKC would be the 4th seed and be home vs Utah. But if that's the case and the Pels hold the tiebreaker why wouldn't the Pels be 4 and host OKC at 5?

I think they are using Bunkie math.
