If a kid is trying to leverage a job for his brother into his recruitment, then he's not the best prospect. There is a fine line between recruiting and begging. I'm not for begging any kid to play for LSU, especially when there are hundreds begging to play for LSU. I'd rather have a kid who commits early and sticks with it than some guy that's at the top of some list that's leverages in favors for the family. That's not a kid who wants to play at LSU. To hell with him...
Yeah, and like I said much earlier, just imagine if Patterson doesn't make it in college football or more likely, his brother isn't much of an asset as an assistant. Would you like LSU to have to deal with that when there are several other QBs rated almost exactly the same. Plus, that family has 0 loyalty to LSU...they are from Ohio until the last few years. Reward the kid who has stuck with LSU and doesn't mind competition. Let ABC Network pick up the pilot for the Patterson soap opera. Eventually, you have to mature and I see 0 evidence of maturity in those Patterson sons. Gunner Kiel II is what I've seen so far from Shea Patterson.
I'm reading that Shea Patterson will commit (again) next Tuesday. The experts seem to be split between LSU and Ole Miss with USC in there somewhere. I certainly don't know, but if you pay close attention there are a couple of clues. First, as far as I know Sean Patterson is still at LSU. Second, next Tuesday is Fat Tuesday. Why someone would commit to Ole Miss or USC on Fat Tuesday is beyond me, so I'm thinking LSU. Of course when he commits he's not really committing, if you know what I mean. http://www.ktbs.com/story/28097929/patterson-to-announce-commitment-next-week.
Shea Patterson to Ole Miss is fine with me. Rather him go OOC but the more I hear about the situation with his brother, that yells "lack of maturity" to me. Also, his supposedly not wanting another QB signed when LSU has fewer scholarship QBs than almost anyone in the nation in also unacceptable if LSU can sign 2 they like. Shea, thanks but no thanks on bringing your circus to Baton Rouge. LSU only fails if they don't sign a top notch QB. Not signing a guy basically from Ohio and not from LA (only been in the state 2 years) is no big loss to me. Maybe he and Gunner Kiel can become Facebook buds. As Gerry Dinardo said (probably wasn't the first one to say it): "The ones that kill you in recruiting are NOT the ones you don't sign. The ones that kill you are the ones you DO sign who end up not contributing." One poster here has tried to make a big deal about Patterson being ranked like 20 spots above Franks in the composite ranking that 24/7 puts together. 24/7 of course has their own ranking isolated from the others...by their ranking, Franks is the 60th best player in the country.....Patterson 63rd. That of course means neither of the players are 5* in their rankings.
