I've never seen this kid play but from what I have heard he has all the tools. Not really a surprise he goes elsewhere. Miles doesn't like guys that can actually play QB
Then I guess Felipe Franks hasn't heard that then. Patterson is ranked like the 20 best player in the country, Franks the 40th best...not a lot of different from an objective point of view.
IF true, then Doctor Who dropped them off from the Tartus in the wrong time. Because when Patterson was STILL committed to Arizona, LSU already had offered Franks. Sorry Les Miles and Cam Cameron didn't seek Ouija Board help. IF they are saying that, sounds like bogus excuse to me. Here is the timeline to prove what I'm saying. Franks offered 4/5/2014 by LSU Patterson decommits 7/28/2014 from Arizona
We don't know who the better one is....their ratings will fluctuate dramatically over the next year...QBs are particularly susceptible to that.
Correction, the higher rated one didn't want to compete with another QB. No one let Patterson get away and no one knows who is better at this point. I'm cool with signing one QB per class. Signing two highly recruited QBs is rare.
I didn't bring that up because it might be heresay. Having said that, I heard the exact same thing you heard. When Franks was told about LSU also recruiting Patterson, he said it didn't affect his decision at all. That according to Helm's info is not reciprocated by the Patterson clan. If a guy is not willing to compete for a job and wants it handed to him, that is not the type of guy I want in a leadership position. Also, it bothers me that he apparently has said whereever his brother is will probably be where he goes. I guess that isn't the type of "man up" attitude I would expect. Like I said and you said, if both have good SR seasons, I don't care which one LSU signs...a QB from FL or the one from N LA.
Committed or not, shea and the LSU staff were in constant contact when Franks was offered. It doesn't make sense to upset about it as you said but it didn't stop them. When we took Franks commitment they were even more upset.
