Time is running out on him. I believe this will be his 5th year with the Dodgers organization. I read the other day that he finally made AAA for a time last season. He went 7-13 and had like a 5.50 ERA. To my knowledge in 5 years, he has yet to spend 1 day in the major leagues even with the late season, expanded rosters. The guy made exactly the right decision even though IMO he had little chance to make it in baseball. His relatives said he wouldn't take $1 million to play baseball. The Dodgers owner stupidly overpaid at $5 million...every cent guaranteed. LSU got screwed on that one. ZL wanted to come and stay at LSU...but who would turn down $5 million.
Yeah, if I remember right, I loved the guy's play. Now there was a WRer who knew how to play football. Some of the 2014 LSU FR WRers could have learned fundamentals from that guy because they certainly lacked them this past season. But as I remember, he didn't last long. Back issue right? Had to give up football sort of like the Cooper Manning kid did at Ole Miss.
If that was unfounded gossip, it was the most widespread ever. As you said, everyone said the said thing about Patterson wanting to be the only QB in the class....especially with Franks already committed at LSU and essentially just as highly rated. Franks has been asked about worrying about LSU signing another QB...he said he was still coming to LSU. That tells you who has a chest and who doesn't. And once again, when you and your brother are a package deal (already proven by them both deserting Arizona), that doesn't shot much of a chest either. Seems like we have another Gunner Kiel in the making. I for one don't want to bother with that soap opera.
