This rule gets violated frequently....usually revealed by a slip of the tongue during an interview. I think it's silly in a way. As for the non-coaching staff types, I am all for having lots of them. Having GA's or interns gives former players a chance to get OJT and an opportunity to break in to the coaching ranks and see if it's a fit. It's also a great avenue for players who have been diagnosed with a catastrophic medical situation and can't play anymore but want to stay around the program while completing a degree.

Yeah, this is definitely the sleazy part of recruiting. No way LSU was going to get Patterson and Felipe Franks in the same class anyway. LSU gets one of them...I'm fine with that.
