Stars are nice, but mean nothing if the QB doesn't fit into your system. Kind of like buying monster truck tires for your Honda civic. I don't care if the QB is a 6 star, if he doesn't fit your system you failed at QB recruiting. As far as other offers, if the player fits their system it makes sense, if he doesn't fit yours you making him an offer doesn't.

This kid could be such a great story....

Local kid takes the reigns as LSU's starting QB, at 5'10 and lights up the SEC... in a couple of years.

Well, Manziel was only a 3* out of HS. Should of probably been higher. 45TD passes, and 30TD rushing as a Senior - that's right 75 TDs his senior year....crazy shight right there.

Dak Prescott was also only a 3*, too, and Russel Wilson a 2*. Maybe our coaches shoot for stars at QB when they shouldn't. Manziel was National Gatorade POY. LScott is LA Gatorade POY this year, so maybe we should just roll w/him and see if he can take us to the promise land. He's smart, has always wanted to go to LSU, and is a playmaker. Just hope we are not too late like we were for Dak. I say we get him on the field and see if he can lead our team, cause that's what we really need, a leader.

A leader with some smarts, would not hurt, either!

They've been going for super athlete and striking out big time. They should be looking for brains, character and guys that are just winners. All we need is a guy with brains enough to learn the offense, read a defense and get the ball to play makers. We don't need a Heisman candidate QB that can take over a game with his arm.

yeah, the Coker guy is pretty pedestrian and will never see an NFL field, yet he led his team to a national championship and played his best ball late in the season

therefore, the Manziel connection I was trying to make....seems fairly similar accolades coming out of high school yet not highly touted due to lack of stature
