Auburn's left field discrepancy isn't as pronounced as that SEC chart of the ball parks makes it look, and they have a huge Fenway Green Monster replica there. Like Red said, Vandy's left field looks a lot worse. Vandy's whole ballpark looks like a mess. They must not have had the room on campus for it, because they had to try and squish it in between their football stadium and some other buildings. It's really funny looking and kind of embarrassing
The BOSS was definitely LSU's offensive player of the game yesterday, going 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Everybody is raving about how awesome he is: Bama Coach Mitch Gaspard on the BOSS: “I think he may be the best freshman in this league as long as I’ve been in the league. He has the flattest swing and the best approach. I played in the league against Rafael Palmeiro and this may have been a comparison back then, but that kid is outstanding. He’s one of the best hitters I’ve seen at any time.” Mainieri on the BOSS: “This kid is an amazing player. Some guys just love the game and their instincts just ooze out. This kid is a great defender at shortstop and an outstanding hitter. One thing that doesn’t get as much credit as it deserves is his ability on the bases. He’s a tremendous base stealer, but his instincts for running the bases are great also.” Mason Katz on the BOSS: “He’s a playmaker; he looks for reasons to help us win and he finds them everywhere possible. Today he had three hits like usual, but if he doesn’t he finds other ways to win. He’s so smart, he knows the game and does everything that people don’t expect or even notice, that’s why he helps us win. Even if he has a bad day, offensively or defensively, he helps us win.”
Cody Glenn is quickly achieving hero status with his stellar pitching as of late... Bama coach: “We tip our hat to LSU and Cody Glenn. He was outstanding. He changed speeds and moved the ball around. We couldn’t get any good swings off." Bama player Brett Booth on Cody Glenn “He did a good job of mixing up and keeping us off balance. We had a couple of hits, but kind of spread them out. Every time he got out there, he did a good job of making a pitch and getting out the inning.” Bama player Ben Moore on Cody Glenn “He kept us off balance by mixing it up. His fast balls have a lot of movement and he was able to make all three pitches for strikes today. He was really good today.” Mainieri: "I also tip my hat to our guy, Cody Glenn. He really answered the call and pitched a tremendous ballgame for us. He was as sharp as I have ever seen him with all three of his pitches." The BOSS on Glenn: “Cody has done that for us all year; he sinks his fastballs so he gets a lot of ground balls so we’re always awake. That’s a tribute to Cody, he does a good job with that and keeps us all up in the game and it’s really easy to play defense behind him. “
Bama coach on LSU: “LSU is such a good offensive team. There’s always a fear that they can hit it right out of the building. They came out and the guys put some good swings on (our starter)"
Mainieri on the epic clash between LSU and Arkansas that starts soon: “If you’re a fan of baseball, not even college baseball, you’ll be looking forward to this matchup tomorrow. I like to think that Aaron (Nola) is going to be a first round pick next year. We know (Ryne) Stanek is going to be this year. He’s outstanding. He’s a power arm. I love our guy, Aaron Nola. He’s as good as any of them. I know our hitters are looking forward to the challenge.” Katz on facing the Mighty Stanek again today: “It’s the matchup that we want,” Tigers first baseman Mason Katz said. “If we’re facing a team with that caliber of a guy, we want to face him. We like to see what we can do against guys like that.” “He’s a power guy,” Katz said. “He throws a hard fastball and a hard slider." " When you can locate a power fastball, that makes it tough, and he did a great job of that last time we faced him.” "It’s going to be a great matchup. We’re going to go out there swinging and do our best"
Where's that hog fan that showed up after we pulled off the epic series win @Arkansas? I told him we'd meet again And this time it's LSU SUPERSTAR NOLA VS THE GREAT AND POWERFUL STANEK Stanek played for Team USA last season, Nola plays for Team USA next season Will the Great Stanek take the stadium hosted upon a throne carried by his teammates? Or will the Mighty Stanek ascend from the heavens to take the mound as thunder and lightning rock the sky? Or will LSU hit him for 10 runs in the first 3 innings? All these questions and more will be answered soon....
Yeah you can barely notice it. I'm just saying it's more pronounced then the discrepancy in Auburn's LF:
