Host sites from ESPN website: Florida State, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Virginia and Virginia Tech were among the 16 schools that were named hosts for regionals Sunday. The tournament begins Friday. Four Southeastern Conference schools will be hosts: LSU, Mississippi State, South Carolina and Vanderbilt. Pac-12 schools playing at home will be Oregon, Oregon State and UCLA. Other hosts are Indiana, Cal State Fullerton, Louisville and Kansas State.
If Baird had been in there, he doesn't make that throw. He can run but doesn't have a great arm. That ended up being a strategic twisted ankle and a great throw by Foster.
Foster had one heck of a game! 2 for 3, an RBI, stolen base, scored 2 runs, and that amazing throw to keep the score tied at 4. They way the game played out, that was a championship-saving throw. Cotton was tournament MVP, and deservedly so, but Foster was the MVP of the championship game for sure. That was big time! GEAUX TIGERS!!
What an awesome game. I can't help but feel a little sorry for Vandy. All those years they've sucked at football. Then, they have success throughout the years in baseball and ended up losing the SECCG for the 6th time. Don't get me wrong, I didn't want them to get over the hump at our expense, but that fan base has seen it's share of heart break. You had to know it was our day first with the game saving catch made by Stephenson with the bases loaded, then the double play throw out at the plate by Foster.
Remember when they dog-piled after winning 1 game in the series at their house? That was funny. Bless their little gump hearts.
