At 246, he's heavier than any LB on the roster. (Minter is currently the heaviest at 242.) Moffitt should have some fun with Mr. Jones.

He looks to be a powerful runner. Any thoughts about using him in short yardage or goal line situations, as a wildcat QB or RB? (Yeah, I know, we're already loaded with strong RBs.)

Why take carries from Kenny Hilliard in those situations?

Desean has always had LSU at his top regardless of what he has lead many to believe and that is still the case as of now. He is the type who isn't blatant at causing drama but likes to play it close to the vest and make it seem like he is more open. Wouldn't label anyone a lock but I would be shocked if he went to UF or anywhere else. May wait until to the All star game to announce.

remember how successful hilliard was against bama in short yardage? of course, when you line him up at fullback twice per game and give him the ball each time, the other teams kind of figure it out.

Maybe Jones is the type of runner who nearly a lock to get 2 yards when we need 1, or 3 yards when we need a long 2? Jones seems to thrive on contact, and may be able to pick up short yardage even though the defense puts 8 or 9 players in the box. Someone like that would be valuable in a Les Miles offense.

Just a guess on my part.

I am so glad Jones is coming to Tiger Town. He is going to be a monster at lb. I doubt if the coaches are thinking about using him in short yardage situations this early in the of process and given the fact that Hilliard and Hill and Ware are already on the roster. I would like to think Jones will have a lot to learn on defense with us using him at Lb and as a hand on the ground DE in passing situations.

I do too Steve. Got a feelin' he's gonna be a real monster in the middle on defense. :D
