    In their " Why Omaha Should Cheer For Them" section of their CWS primer for LSU, KMTV (CBS 3) Omaha wrote:

    "LSU has one of the most passionate fan bases in the country. They travel to Omaha every year whether their team is here or not. "

    Nola vs Plutko

    Plutko is not a dominant strikeout pitcher (averages about 6 1/4 per 9 innings). So we should be able to get the bat on the ball several times and we just need to get those big hits.

    David Berg, their closer, has 21 saves, which is an outrageous number in college baseball. His era is 0.88. They have two great set up men in Kaprielian and Weiss, with a combined era of 2.00. That is pretty much their entire bullpen. Amazingly they have gotten through the entire season with just these 3 bullpen guys.

    Bregmans interview was great and the look on the reporters face was priceless... i'm calling it now, LSU WILL win the 2013 National title.

    It's Official... the 2013 CWS Champions have landed in Eauxmaha. They seem to be in great spirits and looking forward to dealing with their business ahead of them. Mouton flew in with them and said he won't allow anything less than a LSU 7th title.

    when reminded of how UCLA has been to 3 of the last 4 CWS, while LSU doesn't have a player that has been to the CWS, Mainieri replied:

    “When people start to make a big deal out of ‘you guys haven’t been there for three years’, I don’t think it’s going to be that big of a factor,” he said. “These kids will handle everything because they are used to it on a daily basis.”

    “They should be more prepared than any team in the country for Omaha,” Mainieri said. “I went over all the things that make Omaha unique. Number one you’re going to play in front of big crowds. We play in front of large crowds here don’t we?

    “You’re going to be playing in a beautiful ballpark. Don’t we play in a brand new beautiful ballpark?

    “You’re going to be covered by so many media. When you come out to practice every day isn’t there a lot of media out here?

    “Everything we are going to face in Omaha, we face on a daily basis here at LSU. It’s an advantage that we have playing at LSU.”
