On LSU not in NIT

Wow. That's pretty surprising.

Other Louisiana teams

-Southern got invited to NCAAT

-Northwestern State got inviteed to NCAAT....LSU beat them 102-95

-Louisiana Tech got invited to NIT

 

...LSU only lost 80-84 @Marquette and they are a 3-seed in the NCAAT paired with 2-seed Miami

 

i wonder how much of this has to do with attendance? that seems unlikely if LSU wasn't going to host an NIT game but could have been a factor.

 

My guess is it has nothing to do with attendance. There will be many empty arenas during the NIT.

 

I hope the NIT doesn't come calling for a preseason tournament next year. If so, we need to promptly tell them where to stick it.

 

One thing I forgot to mention, LSU looked pretty hesitant, like we didn't have anybody to turn on attack-mode. Looked like they were playing within a system and not quite comfortable with it. Hopefully next season things will be more familiar and go more smoothly. Hopeful. Disappointed we didn't make NIT, but not overly surprised. Not a lot of respect for SEC this year, maybe rightfully so.

 

Any word of transfers or early departures to NBA???
