Re: 2011 WR Jarvis Landry Yep. West Monroe beat Catholic and will face Rummel in the 5A Championship. Haynesville won and will play South Plaquemine (1A) who beat Oak Grove 20-13.
Re: 2011 WR Jarvis Landry That game was well suited for Neville because of the mud. Lutcher couldn't do anything in those conditions whereas Neville wants to run the ball 40 times. They stacked the line with 8-9 guys and got after it all night. Plus Neville's field is so terrible (I know they played at Lutcher) that a hard rain leaves it muddy adn with all the rain this year, they've done it many times already. They're used to it. Not saying they would've won, but they wouldn't have gotten shutout in drier conditions.
Re: 2011 WR Jarvis Landry I know he's a very good receiver.. and would kill in the slot.. but if we don't land Lache.. this dude could be an incredible RB..
Re: 2011 WR Jarvis Landry I don't think he has the frame...if you're talking like a Percy Harvin type role, I could agree with that.
Re: 2011 WR Jarvis Landry He's short so he should fill out pretty easily. He wouldn't need to get any higher than 200 and that's not a far stretch at all. I think it's just his physical nature that makes me think RB.
Re: 2011 WR Jarvis Landry Yea but his frame doesn't have essential things for a SEC RB...like thigh/calf. Look at Hilliard and you'd know what I mean. Reggie Bush gets a lot of leg injuries because he suffers the same problem. A lot easier for someone like Hilliard to handle a 240lb LB hanging on his legs than someone who is 200lbs without any calf/thigh muscles(as ridiculous as it might sound). He doesn't look like he has big shoulders either. Hes physical no doubt...but I think he'd have to play very situational at RB, just like Harvin did. Mainly sitting in the slot. Harvin could get away with hitting the holes deadly fast too, I'm not sure Landry has homerun speed. That might be his weakest attribute but hes definitely not slow. That is just my opinion though.
Re: 2011 WR Jarvis Landry Landry has similar size to Harvin. He would just have to add a few pounds but that willl come. That said, LSU already has Shepard to fit that role. I see Landry able to get a few carries but he has a Skylar Green type of player written all over him IMO. He will be hell in the slot and as a punt returner.
