LSU has interest but seems like a long shot at this point and he looks to be behind Ely on our board. I do feel that we would prefer to take a pocket and duel threat guy in this class but we can't be too picky.

We really, really, need this guy in this class seriously. This will probably make or break the awesome class we have.

Ely will commit the 1st week of August along with Wilder.

Ely is down to LSU and Clemson.

Is there any reason to believe that he is leaning to us besides fans saying he'd be crazy not to come here. Have yall heard that he favors LSU from any reliable sources? I really want this kid and last time I thought we were getting a big time QB i got burned. I remember everyone thought we were getting Dayne Crist and then he burned us for Notre Dame. Ely has great mechanics and will succeed wherever he goes.

Most of the talking heads and sources have said LSU is likely his destination but like with everything in recruiting nothing is a given. Ely said that when he heard Chris Garrett left the team it really helped LSU and he had a great visit a few weeks ago. Another sign that was an indicator for LSU is that James Wilder all of a sudden starting talking up LSU and showed interest in taking a visit to LSU. Probably not going to land Wilder but something sparked his interest.

All of this happened when he had about 5 teams in the running and we are now in the final 2.

Now hearing news it likely will not be LSU which really sucks. He might not announce as early as we thought either. :angryfire

I really am disappointed in the QB recruiting really thought they would be able to pull in at least one "big name" recruit
