Maybe he has backed off his stance but he has been pretty adamant over the last 2 months that he wants to get it over with by the end of July. He said it in the last 3 or 4 articles I read and on the 1st said he was now done with the visits he is going to take and getting ready to end it.

Ole Miss just offered and basically he is waiting to see if ND comes with an offer but he won't wait forever. If he was taking a bunch more visits I could see him holding off but he seems like he is done with unofficial visits.

How is he academically? Is he a punk or a good kid? Just curious since we are apparently down to him for a QB recruit with potential.

Yep and will be an early enrollee so his grades are more than fine.

I actually went and reviewed a bunch of his game films yesterday and I am not as down on his down the field passing as many of the experts who have seen him in camp. However, I am just looking at highlights of the good plays but he seems to have a great ball all around, good timing on his passes, and knows where his WRs are going to be.

He must of underperformed at a few camps in that area. Maybe a combination of not being on the same page as the WRs at the camp and/or he is more of a gamer than practice QB. Doesn't seem as much of an uphill battle on the long game as some have made it out to be.

Well it looks like James Wilder the 5* RB on Ely's team will be taking an unofficial visit to LSU at some point this summer. I don't see him ending up here with the guys we have committed already but I assume he is looking at us because of how much Ely enjoyed his visit. Maybe he will come in with Ely again and that is when we get a commit. Wishful thinking but it could happen.

ESPN's evaluation says he fits better as a LB and that sounds about right. You don't see many 6-2, 6-3 running backs. Does anyone know if he is set on RB?

He is set at RB and has been very clear about it. I wouldn't complain about it either because he is a great RB. He is prototypical but I highly doubt he will go anywhere that doesn't promise him a spot at RB and teams will not back down because of his abilities.

Maybe in college it doesn't work out and he switches.

Yeah I think I saw something on him about him wanting to play only RB. Chances of it working out for him at RB is slim IMHO, maybe in the right system. I wouldn't mind seeing him in purple and gold as an OLB but to me no promises at RB. What really bothers me about his film is he runs completely upright like a board which hurts him in moving side to side, sometimes it's painfully slow. Even on the D side of the ball, his upright stances hurts his movement.

What I see is a kid that is much more powerful than the HS opponents he is playing against. For his size he looks like he is very strong. As a RB has real good vision, has speed but only in a straight line, has no real change of direction. The upright stance is going to get him hurt in the SEC at RB.

I would not want to sacrifice any of our current 2011 RBs for him. IMHO

Ely has a pretty good arm in this 7 on 7 game.

From what I have read this guy is our to lose.
Bhelm, whats going on with Brisette is he a take or are we trying to sign a pocket passer and a duel threat guy?
