If LSU gets CJ then it will really solidify that defense. So far a great recruiting class is only going to get better.
A lot of rumors out of Ole Piss that he is going to commit or is already committed to them. Nothing solid though...just rumors at this point.
We'll know soon enough, because the rumor is he's committed/committing to OM and cancelling his LSU visit next weekend. If he visits LSU, I think the odds are in LSU's favor.
Don't know much about star rankings for recruiting (as Tyrann Mathieu was only a so-so rated recruit) but looks mighty good to me so far, but "tree shaker and Jelly maker, would be high on my list for DTs or DEs!!! :geaux:
Well Mathieu was definitely a LATE rated recruit, but he was a high 4* by the time NSD rolled around.
What is impressive about Mathieu is that no major school saw this potential in him. The Vols were the only other major school to recruit him, but they didn't even make him a committable offer.
Go look what what Hester or fairly were rated as stars. Tells you how much stock to put in that stuff. It's fun to debate but really is pointless
NFL teams spends millions and millions every year scouting and rating players. College coaches across the nation spend countless hrs doing the same. I guess they are all clueless, wasting so much time and money. The scouting services aren't doing anything different. Some highly rated players will bust and some under rated players will become stars, that doesn't mean that rating them has no merit. If the ratings mean nothing why do the best and brightest coaches in the NCAA spend so much time fighting over these highly rated recruits? Sounds like the smart thing to do would be to go after the lower rated players and have your class finished in September. But what do I know, I'm happy to see LSU's classes ranked so high. Seems like Miles is too, but we all know how clueless he is.....right?
It's easy to pick one or two lower rated players that did well or one or two 5*s that flopped, but it's ridiculous to use a guy recruited in 2003 or 2004 as your example. - 5* recruit doesn't mean he's gonna be a superstar. It's all based on potential. If you think following recruiting is pointless, don't.
Do not put too much reliance on the "Star " rating -Recruit doesn't attend services camps they won't give him the Stars.
