Re: S Byron Moore Seems like Notre Dame has all the things he is looking for except stability at the coaching position. Has the bowl victory really put off any pressure on charlie for next year? Will ND accept many more non 10+ win seasons? And if charlie gets fired, that just creates more turmoil, I would think. At some point in time, winning has to enter in to it also. Plus it's so damn cold up there...
Re: S Byron Moore Well, Shep has been wrong before as we all know, and this guy isn't his cousin. We do have a legit shot though because we aren't competing against his home state teams.
Re: S Byron Moore honestly, Notre Dame sounds like the best situation for him. He's big on academics and early PT. I hope he comes here but I just can't imagine us overcoming everything ND has to offer in this specific situation.
Re: S Byron Moore The PT we can't compete with, but the kid is probably fooling himself if he thinks he can compete against the best in the classroom at ND with a 3.0 GPA. It may get him in because he plays football, but the vast majority of the student body will have an "A" average over 3.5. He would be better served to come here where he would fit in a little better academically and be closer to the norm.:yelwink2:
Re: S Byron Moore Keep in mind he does have 2 safeties to contend with that Notre Dame pulled in the 08 class. It's not like he will handed the keys automatically. LSU is quite thin in terms of safeties, or at least anyone who has stepped up to be worthy of starting. He could easily look at it as an opportunity to snag the SS position and play along a headhunter like Loston. What a dynamic duo that would be. Couple that with LSU being very good at producing NFL quality safeties these past 8 years or so. Hell, I think I just convinced myself that Moore will commit to LSU. :thumb:
Re: S Byron Moore It goes unnoticed alot of times.. but LSU has put out loads of NFL talent. I read earlier that every starter on the D-line has been drafted since 2001.. the amount of LSU players in the NFL is amazing to me. I hope the trend continues this year.
Re: S Byron Moore Can you say - Leron Landry and now Craig Steltz - both starting safties for their respective teams.:geaux:
Re: S Byron Moore Welcome to the board! Ryan Clark as well, 2002 undrafted free agent who has done quite well for himself. Taylor is listed as the 3rd highest rated senior by Mike Mayock. That would project to probably no worse than 4th round.
Re: S Byron Moore Steltz wasnt a starter. He was a back up and played special teams. They do think he has potential though. Ryan Clark is a LSU S who is doing well in the NFL.
Re: S Byron Moore Steltz started last year bro. well..technically it isn't last year anymore. But you know what I mean. 2007
