New 2011 Offer to QB Jabriel Washington out of Jackson, TN.

Holds offers from LSU, UGA, Arky, BC, Colorado, Illinois, Oregon, Tenn, A&M, and Vandy.

Most likely recruited as an ATH and could play CB or WR.

I saw on another board that his HS coach at Evangel said that DE Rasco was offered last week. I made a call to a friend and he said he was offered on Tuesday.

Good to see that we're starting to offer in-state kids early.

This kid was THE reason Evangel broke Bastrop's streak last year. Not to take anything away from their offense because it was good, but we had no answer for him all night. And he made the game ending sack on Rueben.

I've got two from home who I think will be on LSU's radar by the end of this fall as 2011 guys...Alonzo Scoby ( 6'2 260 D-lineman...probably tackle) has owned spring practice...granted they are undergoing a major rebuild so it could be deceiving, and Jevante Watson (6'1 185 WR/RB probably as an ATH but I see a switch to the secondary in his collegiate future even though he's all offense at Bastrop).

Watson is who Rueben thinks will be the next "him" in terms of big-time recruits from NELa.

Another early offer to DE/DT Jalen Grimble out of Las Vegas, NV.

His dad was very pumped up about the offer.

His 1st cousin is TE Xavier Grimble who committed to USC.

Any idea if he was pumped up because we're one of the top programs in the country.. or is it genuine interest?

Don't have many details on that. Probably more about a top program since his dad is the recruiting coordinator at his son's high school. I am sure he is also very familiar with McCarthy his nephew, Xavier.

His dad, the recruiting coordinator, must also be very familiar with the Justin Chiasson/girlfriend saga too (since we're probably talking Bishop Gorman high here).

Any word on How OU is resolving that? Are they taking the moral high road like Kiffen and UT with the plunger rapist signing?

(Just seeking an update, not a total hijack, sorry)

Sorry, I have not been keeping up with Chiasson but it is Bishop Gorman HS.

It's not a big priority, but it's hard for me to forget decrepit morals when it comes to an opportunity (athletic scholarships) that most of us would die for.

Heck I really just want to run on the field of Tiger stadium with the team before I die!! Imagine what it must be to actually be any real part of the team.

When I was a grad student at Oklahoma U. I walked on to Owen field and pretended to receive a kickoff and run it all the way back for a TD. Back then you could just walk into the stadium and on the field. My fellow OU grad students that were with me were impressed until I told them I was pretending to run back a kickoff AGAINST Oklahoma for LSU. :).
