Re: 2010 WR Mike Davis COMMITS! The only thing I didn't like about his quote was the words "pretty" committed. Maybe I'm just being neurotic, but that is a soft word, unlike "totally" are just saying "I'm committed to LSU". Hopefully, it doesn't mean anything.
Re: 2010 WR Mike Davis COMMITS! Even if he said that he is totally committed, it still doensn't mean anything unless he is allowed to sign on the dotted line now! It all boils down to the individual as to their values.
Re: 2010 WR Mike Davis COMMITS! Don't see how you can say Florida is a vacation visit, as opposed to a suitor. Florida is the perfect offense for this guy, hes exactly what CUM likes. I would be worried because he said "pretty" committed and this process is a lonnnnnnnnnng ways from being done. Reed could potentially turn him off if LSU gets him, since they are similar receivers. Maybe hes waiting to see what he does? LSU has been screwed more than once with "supposedly" solid recruits to LSU. Their word means nothing at this point.
Re: 2010 WR Mike Davis COMMITS! Too bad there's such a thing as national signing day. You know, the very first day that a recruit can sign a contract... er letter of intent. When a recruit decides to commit to an NCAA school, he should be allowed to sign an LOI as well (if he's committing to a "committable offer"). There should be no NSD. National signing day should be the last day a recruit should be able to sign the LOI. And the first day to sign for the next recruiting class should be the day after NSD. But wait, that would take all the drama out of recruiting. What would ESPN, fox sports, rivals and scout do on NSD? they'd be reduced to reporting boring news that just summarizes what everyone already knows. There'd be no more stupid hat tricks that are now orchestrated by the media at the press conferences they orchestrate to sell the almighty advertising that rakes in hundreds of millions of $$$. And what would coaches themselves do? Coaches like Lane Kiffen wouldn't be able to "stick it" to rival programs and their fans through lies and deception like they did with Janzen Jackson. And what about parents (like Ruben Randles dad) or other agents (like Bryce Brown's mentor)? They wouldn't have their 15 minutes of fame that they coild use to manipulate a school's recruiting practices to their own self serving ends. And what would the schools themselves do with all the extra money that's saved by not having an army of coaches and recruiters fly all around the country just to show "love" to the commits they've already garnered to guarantee they live up to their commitment? (finally a good consequence) Too many people who's greed and self interests are currently being served by the current system would be adversely affected. What the heck am I thinking???
Re: 2010 WR Mike Davis COMMITS! Not saying that UF is not a suitor at all but not a likely destination for Davis based on how many WRs UF can take and the guys they have at the top of their board like James Louis who is considered a lock to UF. As I said, I am not too worried but I know the history of Dallas Skyline. But my money is on Davis being a Tiger based on the comments he has made, the conversations he has had with other prospects about LSU, the way the UF class is shaking out, and the distance factor. IF he said he was visiting OU, a team that was very high on his list, I would have been very worried. And it is still possible he decides to visit there.
Re: 2010 WR Mike Davis COMMITTED Another visit this weekend and this time he stayed a whole week and loving more and more each time. He discussed our future at WR with guys like RR, Hunter, Shep, etc... Then he basically said Jarvis Landry is a lock and he hinted at another top WR going to join us. (Trovon Reed I assume). opcorn:
