Markeith Ambles WR Does anyone know if we are going after this kid, because he looks like a very solid player and we do need to stregthen our WR core, or our chance of landing him??:geauxtige:crystal:
I keep telling you guys, and keep getting pilloried for it, RECRUIT CHARACTER. Athlete without Character Equals Loser. hwr
Team player, puts the team before himeself, does everything to help the team win, has a positive attitude, accepts his role and doesn't constantly complain and moan about every little thing. Think Glenn Dorsey or Jacob Hester.
He is quoted as saying LSU is high on his list along with a couple of other schools. If he makes his visit here we should have a decent shot at him. I know Gonzales has him high on his list.
A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent Pretty much what GEAUXTIGER said. Honesty and integrity. Give all of oneself for the team.
I know he said stuff about LSU but he is all over the place. We are not in a position to hold a spot for him at this time so we have to take the wait and see approach to see if he makes it to campus. He changed his visit plans 3 times this week already and ended up at USC for the weekend for example. LSU has WRs on campus now and in-state and the staff will have a great idea who they are going to get after the weekend of the three even though I doubt there will be any public announcement. BG is also very high on Boone and word is he will likely end up here. As of now the order I have of most likely possible commits to LSU are: Wright Boone Fobbs Reed Ambles
Which recruits do we have that don't meet those standards though? The guys who are decommiting surely can't be faulted for changing their minds (which is all they did). Unless you would bad mouth Reed, Fobbs, etc. I'm not saying you were saying that at all -- just keeping the convo going
Well, I just can't come to terms with "de-commit." It is foreign to my universe. I would question ANYONE that would give his/her word and then change their mind, once they were older than a mere child. Of course, I state this implying all else stays the same. If coaches leave, mom dies, etc, then all bets are off. These stars my be young, but we have young guys in the military too. I expect nothing less from football stars than I expect from some kid on patrol in Afghanistan. But that is just the way I am. I can talk this talk cause I have walked this walk..in the real world and at that age, too! hwr USNA 1974.
These kids don't have the training you had. These verbal commitments are customarily not binding, and everyone knows it. Nothing is binding until they sign their Letter of Intent on national signing day. When they sign, that's when it is for good. We may not like nor understand the system, but that is what the NCAA has given us to work with. Plus its a two way street. With the verbal commit accepted by the university, if a great kid changes his mind and wants to come to your school, the univ. will sometimes "encourage" a kid to seek more playing time somewhere else, and take the LOI from a better kid. So, everyone knows its not binding until you sign the paper.
