I don't know of anyone that thought the Saints draft would look like this. They are getting some quality players but at positions where there is no need. Someone posted earlier that you don't draft players based on need, but that is total BS. At some point you have to fill holes. Not sure what to make of this draft.
As Super Bowl Champions, the Saints staff deserves the benefit of the doubt.....but as a fan I'm kinda confused as to how this draft has panned out for the Saints. I'll just chalk it up to my ignornace and put my trust in the staff at this point.
No doubt they deserve credit for a fantastic job culminating with the Championship last year. However past success doesn't guarantee future prosperity. I think the Saints draft this year is puzzling to just about everyone outside of the Saints organization. Hopefully some of the trade rumors turn out to be true, then it would make a little more sense to the outside observer. Without those trades, I don't know.:huh:
saw the trade but not russell being released. since his contract has so much guaranteed money would it make sense to release him?
