Just curious...how many 2* recruits have signed with LSU in the past 5 years or so...including kickers? According to Rivals, the answer is zero. Why is this even being mentioned? We do sign a few 3* every year...but it seems as though...no offense, but TomCallender in particular(I say this because you were worried last year too...and even the one before that)...some of us just don't think it's enough. We are in the top 10 every year...except for '05...when we only signed 13. UF wasn't near the top last season either...because they didn't sign many. Look at the avg star rating per class in the past 5 years if you wanna look at stars.
    -
Nick Saban's recruiting wasn't questioned in '02 when his "star average" was a paltry 3.23. Les Miles 5 classes so far average an astounding 3.72!! Nick Saban's average in his final 3 classes at LSU plus his latest 2 classes from Alabama is 3.6. I took out Nick's first class at Bama because it wouldn't be fair to use that against him...it was 3.28. He was firmly entrenched (as firmly as he could be anyway) at LSU when he had that 3.23 class in '02. Nick's "recruiting national championship" at LSU didn't have the star rating that some of Les Miles' classes have. In fact, Nick has never pulled a class as "star struck" as Miles'
2007 class. His #1 class at LSU was a full 2/10ths short of the 2007 class. Nick just happened to sign more players in his RNC years. I don't care much for the star rating argument, but Les>>>than Nick in that regard.

We are one of the big dogs...period...and we ain't going anywhere anytime soon. Please enjoy the ride!

good stuff! i certainly am enjoying the ride. like you, i believe in keeping the big picture in mind. clm is doing a great job on and off the field. i think TC was mostly just trying to get some dialogue going, but you have certainly summarized what is important.

Probably right about TC. Kinda wish I hadn't posted that part, but not enough to take it down. Wish he was here to discuss so he would know I didn't mean no harm. Just remember the last couple of seasons him worrying about how we were doing in recruiting. We be doing DAMN STRONG every year!

Its ok, Its Ok.... I moan & groan every year, Its kinda my way of staying Motivated.. Please excuse me for being negative at times:redface:. I am enjoying the ride, kinda got rough last year but hopefully things will be back up to expectations this year. Oh, and I do think that we are recruiting against the conference as much if not more than nationally. I am satisifed with the recruiting this year, seems almost every recruit has a chance to end up with a 4* rating & that ain't bad:thumb:. Excuuuuse me for mentioning 2* recruits in the same breath with LSU.. Can't say as I remember any ether..

He is one of those prospects that does not open up at all. I would say we have a shot but who knows. 1 in 12 sounds about right.:hihi:

Seems like he has a good relationship with Brick so hopefully that will continue to progress in the next few months.

    Who argued that?

It will always be like that considering there are 1.3 gajillion more 2,3,4*s out there.

    You're a good sport...and I hope that continues, because I ain't letting this one slide.

You do realize we finished 2nd in recruiting last season...3.79* average. "Back up to expectations"???? My Lord, man! We signed 4 5* recruits! Just because some forum experts predicted 6-7 doesn't mean we didn't live up to expectations. NOBODY realistically expects that many 5*s. That class is a dream for 99% of the NCAA teams, and a dream to 75% of the SEC teams.

What do we have to do???

OOPs... Guess I wasn't clear on what I was talking about... I was not referring to the recruiting - The enjoying the ride part that I was referring to as being kinda rough was the last years won lost record. I mean darn I was so mad during the Ole Miss game.... I got kinfolks up there!!!! I agree, last years recruiting was the best I ever saw at LSU & except for letting a couple get away at the end would have led the nation for sure.
