Re: 2010 DT Cassius Marsh is a Tiger!

Most of the recruiting experts beg to differ. They say he has the body to play OG but he is too athletic to be moved from DT. He will be a DT at LSU and would be at most other programs.

Where did you get this ranking from? Rivals has him ranked in the 40's.

Yes. From a recruiting insider out here...
    Read Uko and Heimuli.

Greg Biggins who is the west coast recruting analyst for ESPNRise said about Marsh
My take is that USC, when interested, was looking at him on the O side (we already have the other D targets), but Marsh prefers D. As far as I know he won't be getting much more attention before LOI day except from kal. They would still like him.

I agree - especially when you consider our depth at DT vs OG next year. We're going to need him at DT.

FWIW, here is what Marsh said about USC.

Defensive lineman Cassius Marsh chooses LSU - Kristian Dyer - SI.com

Also, LSU told him they want him to add 25lbs of muscle and the reason why I said he will likely need sometime to bulk up before significantly contributing.

Well, this makes Lamarcus Brutus, Safety out of Fl., a definite need for this class.

    Yeah, I know. :dis:

bhelm, I'm not at all disagreeing with you, just pointing out what USC folks are saying..

Here's a thread where USC fans discuss that they don't want Marsh and Hector (he's posted here a few times, if memory serves) claims Miles lured Barksdale in as a DT knowing full well he'd move him immediately to the OL.. Anyone know the story on Barksdale? I recall some here figuring he'd move to OL even before he stepped foot on campus.

    Here's the thread.

Cassius Marsh chooses LSU......for now - WeAreSC Forums

Take it for what it is.

I have mentioned that a few times above. They will come after him if they miss out on a few guys higher on their board.
