The only thing is his weight could have been listed low previously, so say he was in the 260 area but yeah, he looked about 240ish. If you put on 50 pounds in a year chances are it ain't muscle. He looks a lil small on game reels but it doesn't seem to effect his performance, heck if he is not out quicking the OL he overpowers them.
I heard he played around 260 last year and he gained weight during the season. Came in to LSU 2 weekends ago at 277. Remember Muscle weighs more than fat and his coach said he was working hard at gaining weight last year and he said he held it well without losing speed. My guess is he will show up next year at around 280-285.
After seeing the film I think the absolute only reason he wasnt a 5 star was because of his height. Extremely fast off the ball, reaction skills of a snake, stays low gets amazing penetration and provides a pass rush. A must need here, with the lack of rush gathered from last year from the D line in general. Pep to Dt is a good idea, and with Brockers moving most likely also, The DT depth has turned into a strenght. I think it would be smart to keep ego outside and let him do his thing.
Ego reportedly ran a 4.6 at 270lbs in his Hargrove combine according to Rivals. That means he has burst...I'd also like to see him stay on the outside and see what he can do.
