Staff is still on him but have some work to do now with the latest news.

I for one would be shocked if Boone did not commit to LSU.

DL is a position where you win National championships...you build a team on that front..

So I am very upset we can't get at least 1, just one stud this year..1 that we recruiting and landed...it had promise but we couldn't close the deal

We struck out on everyone we wanted...did we not? Hardick went to N...Marsh to UCLA, we missed on J..smith, copeland, ego...

jackson is 2 notches below these guys above...or his film is just bad respresentation of his abilities

No way to put a positive spin on this...we whiffed in this class at DL...barring some late heroic flips on NSD...

Now about the top 10 classes...I agree we should be grateful...However, the truth of the matter is, Alabama and UF aren't struggling with top 10 classes, they are fighting for #1 classes every year...so...while many would trade with LSU, LSU fans may have to settle for 3rd best in the SEC?

I am just venting....very frustrating news

I actually think Boone commited already on his visit and just wants to do the NSD and with only a few days left coaches kept it silent.

He is calling and letting the coaches know tonight or tomorrow morning from what I have heard. Then announce on NSD at his HS.

Something official will probably leak tonight or tomorrow.

Dude. Tyson Jackson? Two star OL. He did alright. Al Woods? 5 star and #2 DL. Sucked.

The world is not going to end tonight. Especially not with a Top-10 recruiting class almost in the books.

Its not a trend you want to see us continue. Last year it seemed like we were on everyone's list at the end of the year. This year, we're barely on anyone big. While everyone else in the SEC is getting stacked. If this was a different division, yes. The SEC is easily the best and for good reason. We have to stay on top of getting impact players every year like a Seantrel Henderson. We can't whiff constantly losing 3 of our best 5 commits and not replace them.

Auburn has a great class and it seems like they're still in it for a bunch of bigtime players...

Its how LSU is going out in this recruiting class I don't like. We're losing some bigtime LA recruits, lost 3 of our best 5 commits and are completely whiffing on all big prospects. All in the last month of this recruiting class. Would anyone be happy if we had a top 10 class next year but still lose 2 of our huge prospects? Say Landry and Johnson to someone like Alabama? No. Players like that are IMPACT players that CAN make a HUGE difference for a entire team. That is how power gets shifted in the conferences. SEC is starting to steal who they want even from major programs like Ohio State because everyone is buying into the, "SEC is the best, gets you prepared for the NFL" hype.

This entire conference is getting loaded down with money and everyone is getting a power shift. We have to stay on top, especially since we arguably have the much harder side of the division right now.

Another way to look at this "travesty".

2011 DL - "Freak" Johnson (already committed), Jamauria Rasco (Evangel), Mickey Johnson (St Pauls). Plus, tons of good talent in Texas, which has been productive for LSU.

    2009 DL - Davenport (5*), Josh Downs (4* and already rockin), Montgomery (4*), Brockers (4*), Logan (3*)

    2008 DL - Aghayere (4*), Clement (4*)

    2007 DL - Nevis (4*)

I would've liked a few good prospects in this class. It's certainly the glaring deficiency in this class. But it doesn't spell anything close to doom for LSU.

It's just a ripple in the bayou.

Top 10 recruiting classes one after another is definitely a trend I want to see continue. Remember #1 or #2 last year, you can't finish on top every year. So let's go with your logic and call this years recruiting class a total disaster. Not bad to finish in the top 10 and that be a disaster year. Next year the state is loaded and LSU is already reeling them in. You're already preparing yourself for a disaster next year, talk about a severe case of chicken little disease. If LSU stays in the top 10 recruiting every year there will never be a lack of talent. Could it have been better this year, of course. But you can't spin a top 10 class into a bad thing no matter how hard you try.
