re: 2010 ATH Jarrett Fobbs (LOI) We might have some ground to make up since we just offered but I am not too worried. If we take him at WR he is ours no doubt but if we are telling him he may play D we could lose him. Fobbs said Miles talked to him about the slot this week. In the end, I am pretty confident he will be a Tiger. I had a talk with a someone on his HS team a couple of weeks ago and today. However, he could be left out if other WRs come on board before him. We only have 2 spots left and I am pretty confident one of those spots will go to Justin Hunter.
re: 2010 ATH Jarrett Fobbs (LOI) If we only have 2 spots left at WR and he insists on playing WR we probably won't be able to take him. You know we will save a spot for Reed and it looks like Hunter is leaning our way. I know there are always discussions about recruiting a slot receiver vs. another type of WR, but I don't weight that as heavily as some others do.
re: 2010 ATH Jarrett Fobbs (LOI) That is probably the main reason we offered him as an ATH. I could see us taking a 4th especially someone like Fobbs who can help on special teams returns and could move to defense after getting a shot at offense.
re: 2010 ATH Jarrett Fobbs (LOI) My feeling about Fobbs were reinforced by Scout today. He will be LSU in the end and it could be fairly soon. He talked a lot about his dad's LSU fandom and excitement over the LSU offer.
re: 2010 ATH Jarrett Fobbs (LOI) Good to hear. If we could pull Reed, Fobbs, Hunter it would be a pretty good haul. I also think we should sign a JUCO guy to step in. 3 WRs, 1 ATH that can go either way.
re: 2010 ATH Jarrett Fobbs (LOI) LSU has its work cut out for him. My guess is because of the way our WR class is shaping up and his desire to play offense in college. Ole Miss and Miss St. are his leaders followed by A&M. He said LSU and Bama are in his top 5 as well. He did say that he has a ton of friends pushing him onto the LSU bandwagon and he said it would be huge if he ended up at LSU. He is expected to visit LSU this summer and he would like to make a decision before his season starts.
re: 2010 ATH Jarrett Fobbs (LOI) I'd sell him the WR/CB/gadget role and move him from there. Give him his first shot at offense.. if he doesn't excel move him around. If he's not happy here.. he would know that Miles will always let him go somewhere else (phelon).
re: 2010 ATH Jarrett Fobbs (LOI) This kid is stuck on wanting to play offense but is really liking the Death Valley atmosphere. Sounds like he wants to play RB and if that is the case I do not see him being a Tiger.
